Chairman of İHKİB, Mr.Gültepe, “If a free trade agreement is not signed, our market in England that worth 2 billion dollars may be heavily damaged,” said at the Eurasia Ecomomy Summit organized by MGV, with the “Responsibility for the Future” topic.

Mustafa Gültepe informed that the focus of the 22nd Edition of Eurasia Economy Summit, organized by MGV (Marmara Vakfı Grubu) with the support of İHKİB, was the effects of tech-nology and artificial intelligence on humanity under the theme of “Responsibility for the Future”. Gültepe thanked Akkan Suver, Chairman of MGV and made comments of issues on the agenda including Brexit. Gültepe reminded that England is leaving the EU on March 29, 2019 and added the followings:

England is the 3rd Largest Market after Germany and Spain“England realizing a ready wear import of around 27 billion dollars on a yearly basis is very important for the Turkish fashion industry. We realized an export of ready wear and apparel that worth 2 billion dollars in 2018 to England being our third largest market after Germany and Spain. gümrük vergisi ödemeden ATR belgesi ile yapıyoruz.

the frame of Customs Union. After Brexit, we won’t have the opportu-nity to conduct export without zero customs tax and thus our compet-itiveness in a market valuing 2 billion dollars will be heavily damaged. We hope that England will remain in the Customs Union while leaving EU. If our expectation is realized, then we will be able to conduct exports with zero customs tax. In case England leaves the Customs Union, it is essential that an immediate and flexible free trade agreement is signed. We closely follow the activities conducted by our Ministry of Trade and provide all kinds of support as industry representatives.”

Additional Customs Tax on Imported Yarn Created DisappointmentMustafa Gültepe underlined that the additional tax applied by 5-8 % on imported yarn, which is the most fundamental raw material in the industry, created disappointment meanwhile the ambiguity about the market in England remains.

We Have Achieved a Foreign Exchange Input of 15,8 Billion Dollars in 2018 to TurkeyMustafa Gültepe pointed out that the ready wear industry is operating over 80% with local products and the industry transforms the limited amount of imported raw material into a value added product and then exports it. Gültepe reminded that they provided a foreign exchange in-put of 15,8 Billion Dollars in 2018 to Turkey and added that in the last September they achieved to break a record with 515,600 registered employees. Gültepe noted that the ready wear industry is of strategical importance and in case support is provided, they can achieve new re-cords in employment and exports.

Active research is also underway to turn these fibres back into yarns.Another major focus is on custom-er service. Current technologies allow Laroche to help the customers by designing smart and user-friendly control systems which can be connected to the service department. Benoît explains that” in a full line, there are now more than 200 sensors and a router allowing the connection between the line and our engineers in Cours-la-Ville. is can be used for fine tuning, trouble shooting, remote assistance, and software upgrading anywhere in the world. In fact, he says, that near-ly every day his team receives an inquiry from a customer and that this service is growing fast as there are more and more lines equipped with these features. It is a great step in the industry 4.0 revolution”. For Asia, a very active market, Laroche has set up technical support in Kuala Lumpur with 2 full time engineers who travel intensively. Spare parts and consumables are sent from headquarters twice a day through express, multinationals package delivery services and can be all over the world within 48 hours.

denim garment by special washing machines according to certain techniques and prescriptions (Birinci, 2009). Denim effects are ob-tained by physical or chemical processes or by a combination of both types (Aslan ve Körlü, 2009). Hand whisker, scrapping, laser, mus-tache, fishbone, attrition and pocket print effects could be showed as examples of physical finishing methods. chemical finishing methods of the denim fabric are performed by different methods such as rinse washing, stone washing, bleaching, enzyme washing, sand washing, ice washing, silicone washing, snow washing, tint washing, power washing, super stone washing and ozone washing (Binici, 2009).Ozone technology in textile is one of oxidation methods. this oxida-tion method is used for bleaching and lightening of fabric in denim washing. Ozone is applied in the process of cleaning back dyeing that occurs in the process in denim products. Ozone affect on the indigo molecule and indigo carmine, removes the color by breaking the indigo molecule into anthranilic acid, isatin, and the derivatives of these two products and induces the indigo carmine molecule to break down the isatin sulfonic acid (Köksal, 2015).

2. MATERIALS AND METHODS2.1. MaterialsIn the study, denim fabrics was used. Information about these fab-rics is given in Table 1.

In the experimental studies, two different types of commercial soft-eners were used which are macro silicone softener and hydrophilic silicone softener.

2.2. MethodsIn the study, 65% pick-up ratio of silicone softeners were first trans-ferred to denim fabrics by vertical fulard according to impregnation method. en, the finished fabrics were dried and made ready to be affected by ozone gas. Before treatment with ozone gas, the fabrics were moistened with pure water at different pick-up rates (45-55%) and taken into the ozone reaction tank and treated with ozone gas for 10 minutes in the air. e operating conditions of the transfer method and process parameters of the ozone gas used in the exper-imental study are given in Table 2. and Table 3.
