2020 Cookie Program Family Permission & Financial Responsibility Form READ, SIGN AND RETURN TO TROOP COOKIE MANAGER As a parent/guardian of a Girl Scout participating in the 2020 Girl Scout Cookie Program, I agree to: Abide by all guidelines as set by the Troop and Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma. I understand my Girl Scout must be a registered member for the 2020 membership year. I will assist my Girl Scout by providing proper supervision and adult guidance. I will monitor my Girl Scout while online and monitor her Digital Cookie Sales. Respect start dates and deadlines set by the Troop and Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma I understand I can start selling cookies as soon as I receive them from the Troop Cookie Consultant. I will participate in individual sales and sell on the move until February 14, 2020 I understand a Girl Scout Cookie Booth is when you are set up (stationary) at one location and the customers come to you. Booth Sales do not start until February 14, 2020. I understand all money owed for cookies is due back to the troop by March 22, 2020. I understand cookies cannot be returned to the troop. I am financially responsible for the cookies I take into possession. When a Girl Scout sells cookies, she building up a lifetime of skills and confidence.

She develops five key skills that are essential to leadership, to success and to life. Goal Setting—setting cookie sales goals and making a plan to achieve them.

Decision Making-deciding how a troop with spend their troop proceeds.

Money Management-calculating orders and handling customer’s money

People Skills-learning to talk and listen to all kinds of people

Business Ethics-being honest and responsible every step of the way

Online Selling for the Girl Scout Cookie Program Girls are only to use the Internet to market the Girl Scout Cookie Program and Fall Product Program to friends and family (for clarity, “friends and family” are people whom the girl or her family personally know).

• The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a girl-led program and online marketing and sales efforts should always be led by a girl while also being supervised by her parents or caretakers.

• Friends and family of a girl participating in the cookie program must not market or share a girl’s contact information, sales links, or sales information on public-facing online sites. They also should not share their sales link with any news outlets (this includes online and traditional news media, such as radio, television, or magazines).

• For safety purposes and other reasons, online marketing activities, especially those conducted through social media platforms, should always be done through accounts set to “private.”

• Should any online marketing activities be identified as in violation of guidance, GSUSA or Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma reserves the right to intervene and request removal or remove the post.

Girl Scout Internet Safety Pledge for All Girl Scouts• I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number(s), parents’ or guardians’ work

address/telephone number(s), and the name and location of my school without the permission of my parent or guardian.

• I will tell an adult right away if I come across or receive any information that makes me feel uncomfortable.

• I will always follow the rules of internet sites, including those rules that are based on age of use, parental approval and

knowledge, and public laws.

• I will never agree to get together with someone I “meet” online without first checking with my parents or guardians. If my

parents or guardian agree to a meeting, I will arrange it in a public place and bring a parent or guardian along.

• I will never send a person my picture or anything else without first checking with my parent or guardian.

• I will talk with my parent or guardian so that we can set up rules for going online. We will decide on the time of day that I can

be online, the length of time that I can be online, and appropriate areas for me to visit. I will not access other areas or break

these rules without their permission.

• I will not use the internet to collect money for Girl Scout products other than what is specifically permitted and outlined in

the safety guidelines related to Girl Scout product sales.

• I will practice online “netiquette” (good manners) at all times when online.

• I won’t spam others.

• I will not bully nor will I tolerate bullying (and I will always tell a trusted adult if this is a problem).

• I won’t use bad language.
