CCEC now offers 2011 NEC Update as a classroom continuing education course. However, Washington State Labor and Industries (L&I) has not adopted the 2011 National Electrical Code (NEC). All State inspections and licensing exams will be based on the 2008 NEC. L&I has addressed the NEC adoption on its website, www.lni.wa.gov:
“The adoption of the 2011 NEC...[has] been suspended.... [However], we will continue to accept 2011 NEC-based continuing education course applications and allow approved courses to apply towards Washington certification renewal.”
For questions regarding State code and rule development, visit L&I’s website, www.lni.wa.gov, or call the L&I Electrical Department at 360.902.5269.
