Based on application valves are classified as follows

Direction control valve : To change the direction of the flow of fluid.

Pressure control valve : To control the pressure of the fluid in the system.

Flow control valve : To adjust the flow rate of fluid.

Types of Valve

Valves are necessary to control the pressure , flow rate and direction of the fluid.

Hydraulic valves are made from strong materials , e.g. Steel and are precision manufactured. (High Pr. Range)

Pneumatic valves are made from cheaper material , e.g. aluminum and polymer and cheaper to manufacture. (low Pr. Range)
