In 1955 Square D Company introduced the QO® Plug-on System and revolutionized the way electrical contractors install miniature circuit breakers in the United States. Today, as part of Schneider Electric, we offer the same Plug-on System technology around the world. A full line of IEC Certified QO products are available for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

CHARACTERISTICS • Circuit breakers are rated 240 Vac single-phase and 415 Vac three-phase, 50/60 Hz, 3–100 A.

• Circuit breakers are available in 1-, 2- or 3-pole construction.

• Thermal trip elements are factory calibrated to 40°C (IEC 947-2) and 30°C (IEC 898) ambient temperature.

• RCBO devices available with 10 mA, 30 mA and 100 mA residual current protection.

• Trip-free handle ensures tripping even when the circuit breaker is held or locked in the ON position.

• Circuit breakers are in compliance with international standards set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

• The CE marking is located on each circuit breaker in accordance with the low-voltage directive of the European Union.

• The entire QO circuit breaker family provides the advantage of a plug-on connection. (Bolt-on connections also available.)

Advantages of the Plug-on System • A 50% reduction on installation time compared to a lug/lug (DIN) alternative.

• No link bars to fit and tighten.

• Contact jaws automatically align the circuit breakers in the equipment.

• High short circuits result in an increase in jaw pressure reducing the potential for hazardous arcs on the line side of the circuit breaker.

QOE-RCBO CIRCUIT BREAKERS WITH RESIDUAL CURRENT PROTECTION

QOE-RCBO branch circuit breakers with residual current protection and integral overcurrent protection are designed for use in single-phase consumer unit and three-phase distribution panelboard applications.

• Compliance with International Standards: Certified to IEC 60898 and BS4293, 10 kA at 240 Vac, 50/60 Hz, CE marked.

• ON/OFF Indication: ON/OFF markings are on the face of the circuit breaker along with the international I/O markings.

• Handle Operation: Trip-free handle through an over-center toggle mechanism that ensures tripping even when the handle is held or locked in the ON position.

• Trip Indication: Indication of a tripped circuit breaker on overload or short circuit is by location of the handle in the OFF position. Indication of a tripped circuit breaker on residual current ground fault is by location of the handle in an intermediate position.

• Push-to-test Function: A yellow push-to-test button is positioned on the front of the device for testing the residual current electronic trip circuit and mechanical tripping interface.

• Thermal Trip Element: Thermal trip elements are factory calibrated at 30°C ambient temperature.

• Instantaneous trip level types B and C:

— Type B—(3–5 In) Overcurrent protection for sensitive equipment

— Type C—(5–10 In) Overcurrent protection for all application types

• Residual Current Protection: Residual ground-fault trip currents are factory set at 10 mA, 30 mA or 100 mA: Type A.

• Trip Mechanism: Device will trip on loss of neutral. Device is sensitive to both ac and pulsating dc fault current. Device will trip on voltage between neutral and earth greater than 50 Vac.

• Mounting: Plug-on connection.

• Thermal Trip Element: Thermal trip elements are factory calibrated at 40°C ambient (IEC 947-2) and 30°C ambient (IEC 898) temperature.

• Endurance (Switching Operations):

— IEC 947-2: 1,500 full-load operations

— IEC 947-2: 8,500 no-load operations

— IEC 898: 4,000 full-load operations

Accessories Mounting: Plug-on and bolt-on connection available.

• Handle Tie (QO1HT)The handle tie accessory converts any adjacent 1-pole QO circuit breaker to one independent-trip multi-pole circuit breaker.

• Handle Clamps (HLO-1 and QO1LO)The handle clamp accessories fasten the circuit breaker handle in the ON or OFF position. These handle clamps cannot be padlocked.

— 1-pole circuit breaker handle clamp: QO1LO

— 1-, 2- and 3-pole circuit breaker handle clamp: HLO-1

• Handle Padlock Attachments (QOHPL, QO1PA, QO1HPL and QO1PL)The handle padlock attachments allow padlocking the circuit breaker handles in the ON or OFF position. They are available in two styles: fixed and removable. The fixed style is intended to be a permanent device. The padlock can be removed to resume normal operation. The removable style is intended to be a temporary device and must be removed to resume normal operation. (Padlock is not included.)

— 1-pole circuit breaker removable attachment: QOHPL

— 1-pole circuit breaker fixed attachment: QO1PA

— 2- and 3-pole removable attachment: QO1HPL

— 2- and 3-pole fixed attachment: QO1PL
