Checking homeworkWhat is your homework for today?The pupils will read their homework which is a short story about their favourite season5

Announcement of the new lessonThe teacher tells the pupils the title of the new lesson: It was a warm evening. The lesson is about words that describe weather.T plays a video about weather vocabulary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpBuaThe pupils will listen to the teacher and write the title of the lesson in their copybooks.4

ACTIVITY 1

Reading/WritingThe teacher asks the pupils to open their books at page 104 an to look at the picturesThe teacher elicits and teach the phrases using the pictures only. In pairs, T asks Ss to look at the phrases in exercise 1 and match them to the pictures.

T teaches the question and answer from: Whats the weather like in Rome? Its warm and sunny. T writes it on the blackboardThe teacher will write on the board the new words then the teacher will translate it into Romanian.For example:

windy=vntos, cu vnt

sunny=nsorit, cu soareThe teacher asks the pupils to repeat the new words.The teacher will help the pupils if they need.The pupils will read the name of the cities aloud and try to guess the season in every picture.Ss look at the phrases in exercise 1 and match them to the pictures.

Ss, in open pairs, ask eachother about the cities in the pictures.The pupils will write down the new words in their copybooks.

The pupils repeat the new words.10

ACTIVITY 2WritingThe teacher will ask the pupils to write in their workbooks and come to the board to solve exercises 1 and 2 on page 73 in order to practice the new words.The pupils will come to the board and write the answersThey will use the new words in sentences.

ACTIVITY 3SpeakingThe teacher gives the question Whats the temperature? Explains that in the UK, temperatures are often given in both C and F forms)The teacher asks the pupils to work in pairs so they can speak about todays weather.

The pupils will make questions and give answers.

Q Whats the weather like today? Whats the temperature? A Its sunny. Its -5 degrees Centigrade.5

ACTIVITY 4Interaction The teacher plays a video to help pupils in further activity:

Feedback T selects three or four places for Ss to ask about across the class as a feedback activity and hands out some worksheets for them to work in groups as a contest.
