既習の動詞のフォーム・助詞・助動詞の整理。

日本語運用の場面を通し、日本文化・習慣への理解を深める。

みんなの日本語Ⅰ で使用の漢字の学習をし、漢字交じりの日本語に慣れる。

Subject code: 3001 TARGET STUDENT This course is for students who have good intentions to study Japanese and received C or higher grade in the winter session. COURSE DESCRIPTION You will acquire grammar points in L24 and 25 in Minna no Nihongo Elementary I and L26 to L38 in Minna no Nihongo Elementary II. You will practice them by drills, role plays, and writing and listening exercises in a various types of daily situations, and also learn Kanji (Chinese characters). You will also review verb forms, particles and auxiliary verbs. TEXT BOOK

Course Description and Objectives

In this semester, students will further develop their knowledge of elementary Japanese.

Intermediate grammar will also be introduced.

It aims at bridging elementary and intermediate Japanese. Students are expected to be

able to express themselves both in spoken and in written language.

Students will master approximately 530 kanji by the end of this course.

You are expected to attend all classes and to be punctual.

このコースでは日本の文化的・社会的なトピックに関して日本語で学ぶ。学生は発

表を幾度か行い、学期中に１５分程度の発表を行う。また、６月中旬に行われる日

本語発表会では５分間のプレゼンテーションを行う。

このコースの目的は日本に関する様々なトピックに関して、論じ合うことによって、

日本語の語彙を増やし、読む・聞く・書く・話すという４技能を総合的に伸ばすこ

とにある。また、日本語で発表するための技能、及びアカデミックライティングの

技能も修得する。

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a unique, specially designed Japanese course to offer students the hands-on opportunity to learn and study about current Japanese cultural and societal issues and topics in the Japanese language. Students do presentations at the end of the semester in Japanese. The objective of this course is to engage students in cultural/social issues, thought and discussion while at the same time increasing their Japanese vocabulary; using “real life” Japanese reading and media materials; and incorporating all four skills of reading, speaking, writing, and listening. Students will learn how to do a presentation in Japanese, including research and questionnaire survey. TEXTBOOKS

In this class, students are required to participate in class activities. In order to discuss actively, assignment and research will be necessary. Students will be required to do presentations in class and submit assignments on time. EXAM POLICY

Students have to do a presentation in Japanese and submit a report about their presentation. A written examination will be held at the end of the semester.

このクラスは日本語能力試験２級合格、あるいはそれと同等レベルの知識を持

つ学生を対象としている。

・いろいろな分野の日本語に多く接し、さまざまな日本語の表現や日本の文化・

習慣などについて学ぶことがこの授業の目標である。

・「日本語を学ぶ」だけでなく「日本語で学ぶ」ことで、より実践的な読み・書

き・話し・聞きの能力を身に付ける。

・日本のテレビ番組や映画などを用いて、自然なスピードの日本語の聞き取りの

練習を行う。同時に、語彙や文法、背景となっている歴史や習慣を学ぶ。

・週に一度、いろいろなテーマについて、日本語で短い作文を書く。これを通じ

て、原稿用紙や便箋の使い方、日本語の文章によく使われる表現、手紙やビジネ

ス文書等の決まりを学ぶ。

・毎回学生は興味のあるトピックについて短いスピーチをする。一学期（15 週）

の間に、一人の学生は少なくとも 2 回のスピーチをしなければならない。

・そのほか、文集記事やエッセイの読解、ニュース等の聞き取りなどを随時行う。

In this course, you will learn Japanese expressions, culture, and customs through various types of Japanese. You will not only study Japanese language, but also learn practical reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through the language study. You will comprehend spoken Japanese at natural speed using Japanese movies, and at the same time, you will learn not only words and grammar used, but also historical background events and customs. You will write a short essay on a variety of topics once a week. Through this writing practice, you learn how to use Japanese-style manuscript paper and letter paper, how to write personal and business letters, and also frequently used Japanese writing expressions. Students will make a short speech on a topic of interest in each class. Everyone must make a speech at least 2 times a semester (fifteen weeks). You occasionally have reading practices using newspaper articles and essays, and listening practices using regular TV news.
