SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN MISSION
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was announced by our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 68th Independence Day and this abhiyan was put into force on 2 Oct 2014 that is on Gandhi Jayanti.
Slogan by Narendra Modi was like:-Ek kadam swachhta ki aur (One step towards cleanliness)

Finance
This program has also received funding a technical support from the World Bank
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is expected to cost over ₹620 billion.
The government provides an incentive of ₹12,000 for each toilet constructed by a BPL family
Total fund mobilized under Swachh Bharat Kosh(SBK) as on 31 January 2016 stood at ₹3.69 billion

Performance
o Between April 2014 to January 2015, 31.83 lakh toilets were built.
o Karnataka led all States in construction of toilets under the programme.
o As of August 2015, 80 lakh toilets have been constructed under the program.
o As of 18 March 2016, 10 districts in India were Open-Defecation Free(ODF).
List of Top 10 clean citiesGovernment of India released a "Cleanliness Ranking" for 73 cities on 15 February 2016.
