AhugecontestthattheGOBSholdsalongwiththeKansasCityBarbequesocietyistheArena-Que.Forthiscontestteamscanenterandtherearedifferentcategoriesthatarebeingjudges.ThecompetitionisfamilyfriendlyandincludescompetitionsforKids,Foodtrucks,andthereislivemusicandanoverallgreatscene.AportionoftheproceedsoftheeventalsobenefittheHeartlandHopeMission.

OthercompetitionsthattheGOBSisinvolvedinareBBQonthebricksinKearney,SeptemberfestBBQandRib-eyesteakcookoffchallenge,the23rdAnnualStateBBQChampionshipofNebraskainOmahaandtheRiverFestRedWhiteandQueinBellevue.AnotherpopulareventistheRibstockMBABBQFestivalwhichusessmokingasaformofmakingtheribs.
