•Racism is a concept tied in with modern Western history and all of its attendant tragedies. Ex: The Holocaust, Civil War, KKK

•Human beings have been divided along tribal, ethnic or political lines for millennia

•These sorts of divisions lead to the race of others, and inculcating prejudicial attitudes towards other peoples has long served leaders as a useful pretext for war or simply for boosting a community's sense of self-worth in comparison to others.

•These attitudes recur throughout history's most infamous episodes of racist behavior, most of which accompanied by horrific violence: the African slave trade; the Holocaust; Apartheid; and the lynching of blacks in the American south. •The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting.•The measure passed in 1996.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964, in Title VII, Sec. 703, states:It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer to limit segregate or classify his employees in any way which would deprive or tend to deprive any individual of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect his status as an employee, because of such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

•Interracial marriage has more than quadrupled since the early 1970s.

• There were 354,000 White female/Black male and 196,000 Black female/White male marriages in March 2009

•We should stop racism because it is not fair to either person racism only hurts people and it usually creates more hate and anger If you do not like the color of a person's skin that is your opinion every one is entitled to their on opinion but sometimes it is best to keep it to yourself
