Parent Information Night

4th GradePowell

Elementary

Powell forms were unable to be completed online. At

meet the teacher you received a folder

containing forms. Please return the forms as quickly as possible.

Please sign up for PAC (Parent Access Center) to check your child’s

updated grades and averages.

You must re-register every year for PAC.

To sign up, visit the CISD website. PAC is located under the “Student/Parent” tab.

Handbook Highlights

You may access the entire 4th grade handbook through the Powell

website via the 4th grade page.

Weekly conduct, grades, and missing homework are sent home every Tuesday in the Tuesday Folder.

This folder must be signed and returned by Wednesday.

Please note that an S doesn’t necessarily reflect a conduct book signing.

Keep all graded papers until the end of the nine weeks.

Conduct/Tuesday Folder

You will see the grade/g (example 90/g) on papers that are counted as a grade for the nine week. 10 points per day are deducted for late work for projects; after 5 days, late work is not accepted.

Late homework assignments will not be accepted after 5 days.

Grading

Progress reports will be sent with every student at 4 ½ weeks into the nine week grading period.

Please keep in mind there will only be a few grades at the first progress report.

PAC will have the most updated average.

The black binder required for school supplies is used for the writing portfolio. It stays in Mrs. Wright’s classroom.

4th is the first grade that students FINALLY get to choose his/her binder.

The MOOSE is kept in the binder for PTO and Powell notes.

The binder also serves as an organizational tool for study skills.

EVERY 4th grade student is given a planner that is kept in his/her binder.

EVERY student writes homework assignments, tests, projects, and important information.

Each student is given class time to write in planners.

Information is on the board for students to copy.

You may send a HEALTHY snack and water bottle with your child each day.

There are several students with peanut allergies so please be mindful of those students.

Please no parents at lunch until Sept.12 with the exception of birthdays.

For security reasons parents are not permitted to be on playground.

If you are bringing your child lunch, please meet your child in the cafeteria.Please do not stand in the 4th grade hallway or outside the classrooms.

You may send in cookies or brownies for your child’s class.

Please do not send in cake or cupcakes.

Birthday treats can be served at 12:30.

Birthdays

Transportation tags MUST be worn each day for the first 6 days of school.

Please help us by reminding your child to return them to school each day.

Transportation changes should be in writing. Please do not email us with changes. Please call the front office with changes.

Rainy day dismissal will be announced at 2:45.
