( a parent in our school) Southlands Estate Agents are helping us fundraise again by giving us a percentage of their fee ‐10% ‐to the school if you sell your house through them. Many parents have said if they had known they would have used the estate agents who offered this deal. We certainly appreciate their support . In many cases we receive $900. These wonderful Kindergarten students are excelling in writing last week . Well done !!! Swimmers braved the pool last Tuesday ! Despite the weather being slightly inclement last Tuesday it was great to see so many students and parents come along to our annual swimming carnival from 7‐9pm at Penrith Pool. For some of our Year 3 students it was their first time swimming in the carnival and they excelled themselves . It was delightful to see so many students participate in more than one race. Rain held off until the second last race and this sent most of the crowd home . All in all a lovely evening was had by all and thank you to the staff who came and Mrs Nicholls for her co‐ordination. Good luck to all our District team who will participate on Wednesday 2nd March. Calling all Readers – PREMIERS READING

Clean Up Schools Day Friday 4TH March
The school will be participating in this worthwhile event with each class allocated an area of the school to clean. To assist us on the day each child will need to bring with them a pair of gardening gloves rather than disposable gloves as we don’t want to create more landfill. We will use our class buckets for the rubbish collected. If you are interested in helping the community on Sunday with Clean Up Australia, there is plenty of information on the website.
Life Education Life Education has now begun in the School and will continue till the end of next week. The cost of $9 includes both the visit as well as a work booklet to follow up the lesson over the next few weeks. Thank you to the parents who have responded to the invitation to the Life Education Parent Information Session this Wednesday 2nd March from 2pm. If you would like to attend this session please contact the Office by 11am tomorrow.

Library News Term 1 The Glenmore Park Public School Library is now fully operational for all students. Students are able to borrow books during their allocated class library time as well as before school and at lunchtimes. They will need to have a sturdy library bag to keep books clean and safe. The library is also open at lunchtime, Monday – Thursday, for activities such as reading, drawing, and quiet games. The Premier’s Reading Challenge is on again this year and students are encouraged to participate by keeping a record of all the books they read. Students will be able logon to their PRC record from the beginning of March, and can check the booklists and rules by looking at the PRC website at https://products.schools.nsw.edu.au/prc/home.html , or typing Premier’s Reading Challenge into Google. All parents and caregivers are very welcome to come and visit the library if you have any questions or enquires. Nerida Dalitz Teacher Librarian
