The concept of this space is to open a one stop place for entertainment and laundromat. The concept is all about making it all in one service combining the laundromat with the internet café. Foam is the perfect concept for this place which is fun, circular edges, translucent, and airy. More over, the location provide many ways to be easily accessible by customers. It is surrounding by apartments and offices.

Design Strategy

Creating a drop ceiling will offer acoustic balance, control in a room and also add some design to the space to be more attractive. All the ellipses on the ceiling are to imitate the foam.

The low ceiling in the laundromat makes the space feel like home. On the other hand, in the restaurant the higher ceiling creates more space.

Function

The Circular Bar shelving and ceiling is one way to attract customers.

The Circular seatings are rotating and has water and bubbles coming down through the glass which are recyled water from the laundromat.

Brandon Johnson (37) owns a multi-million dollar restaurant chain and Michelle Johnson (28) is an entreprenuer and has created a line of beauty products for high-end spas. The Johnsons would like to open a boutique hotel in Gold Coast neighborhood of downtown Chicago. Brandon and Michelle would like the style of their new hotel to be very contemporary. They are looking for new and original designs that compliment the clean lines of the contemporary styles.

The concept is Mediterranean style that will be aplied in public space as well as living space.

By adding a peninsula, this kitchen is perfect for entertainment where they can serve and eat. Without upper cabinets, the kitchen looks more airy and spacious.
