Setting Up the Spreadsheetfor 3-5 teachers

Note: The spreadsheet must be set up each year prior to use.

Setup Options

Select Preferences

Click OK

My Options tab

There are 2 ways to set up the spreadsheet.

•DPI recommends weighting individual assessments.

•The second way uses a percentage method.

DPI Method – assessments may be

weighted individually

Only check Use Assessment weights

Setup # 1

Failure Threshold is 70.

Check Delete Assessments at Year End

Other Settings

Top 2 boxes must be checked.

Count Blank Marks as Zeros

UNCHECKED- recommended blank cells are exempt or omitted

CHECKED- counts against the student

When all selections are made - SAVE.

Click the My Preps tab

Click ADD

1. Your Name

2. Click the Select Classes button.

Check all except

the top one.

Click OK.

Report Cycles appear. This is set up by the Data Manager.

1. Type Academic.

Check Default box.

2. Under Prep Assessment Types

click Add.

Check only

Assessment.

Click OK.

SAVE and EXIT.

Your spreadsheet is now ready to use!

EXIT.

Click OK to close Setup Options box.

Alternate Spreadsheet Setup

Only check

The column should total 100.

Your spreadsheet is now ready to use!

SAVE and EXIT.

EXIT.

Click OK to close Setup Options box.

Using the Spreadsheet

For Elementary Teachers

NC WISE

Click OnCourse

Reporting Term

Category and Assignment Types remain on ALL.

Add Assessment button

Class

Name of the Assessment will appear on the Progress Report.

Short Name only appears in your Spreadsheet.

Score Type

Numeric Mark Score Max

100

Due Date must be a student

day in the correct quarter.

Save

Click ADD to enter another Assessment

OR

EXIT to Log off NC Wise

or to enter Marks.

OR

Go to Enter Mark/Comments

for the Copy Down buttons

You may Enter Marks here

You may check as Late or Exempt

COPY DOWN

buttons

Enter Marks / Comments screen.Marks may be entered.

1. Enter the Mark for the first student on the roster

2. Then click Copy First Mark Down button.

Highlight and change for any student not making this Mark.

SAVE. EXIT.

You may continue toenter Marks, Add Assessments, or EXIT NC Wise.
