Reminders Important dates Things you should know…
Class Prof / Class Rep Meetings
The first Class Prof – Class Rep Meeting will be held from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in EIT 3142 on Thursday, January 18th.
Observed Holidays
The ECE office will be closed: Good Friday – Friday, April 6th. No exams will be
scheduled on that day.
Midterm Examinations Most midterms will start Monday, February 12th
and run until Friday, February 16th and continue after reading week if necessary.
Some courses may not have midterm exams, it is up to the instructor.
Midterm exams will be scheduled after 4:30 p.m. to avoid potential conflicts with ECE courses and co-op interviews
Reading Week Engineering Students FIRST full Reading Week
will run from Monday, February 19th to Friday, February 23rd.
Class Enrolment Appointments
Class enrolment appointments for Spring 2007 begin on Monday, March 19 and end on Saturday, March 31st.
Open enrolment begins on Monday, April 2nd.
Dropping and Adding Courses Students who wish to drop or add electives
should speak with Maureen Stafford in ECE 3032, ext. 33331,email at mastafford@uwaterloo.ca
The last day to add a course is Tuesday, January 16th.
The last day to drop a course, without penalty, is Tuesday, January 23rd.
Voluntary Withdrawal A student may withdraw by submitting a voluntary
withdrawal notice no later than the 3rd week of the term.
If the required paperwork is submitted by the deadline, no record of the term will show on your transcript.
ECE Department Logo Contest The ECE Department organized a logo contest for
all ECE students. And the winner was...
Ms. Maran Ma, 3A Electrical Engineering
Maran received a $150 Future Shop gift certificate. This logo is currently being used on all ECE Department
websites, brochures, etc.
Student AchievementsUndergraduate News:
Amir-Hossien Safavi-Naeini, a third year ECE student, received the Dean’s Undergraduate Award for the Fall 2006 Calendar Term.
Graduate News:Andrew Rae, an ECE Ph.D. student, won the 2006 Michel Van Aerde Memorial Scholarship, awarded by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Society of Canada.
