Colleen Thrailkill is looking for a volunteer(s) to take over as Charity

baby quilts that will be donated to Lake Norman Regional Hospital.
Cheryl Campbell reported that a patriotic quilt will be presented to a vet-
eran in Troutman.
Barbara Barrier reminded members of the Scholarship Fund.

For new business, Julie Murphy proposed the Guild purchase storage bags
for the quilt show poles. The boxes currently used have been disintegrating and
cannot be repaired. The company selling the storage bags currently has a 30%
sale. The total price is $836.50 to purchase nine, 8-foot bags and five, 10-foot
bags. Julie Murphy made a motion to purchase the bags, and Cheryl Campbell
seconded the motion. The motion passed with a unanimous vote.

CHARITY QUILT NEWS
During 2017 our guild made and donated the following items - 16 quilts
for children which went to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center and 12 ta-
ble runners for Habitat.
In addition, several of our members got together to make items for the
Gift Shop at our Quilt Show this past summer. Thank you to all of the Lake
Norman Quilters who participate in our charity activities.
We have some beautiful fabrics donated by Laurie and Diana Jasany
which should inspire all of us to make cute charity quilts next year. I'll bring
it to the December meeting.
In 2018 Marian Voorhees will be taking over responsibility for running
this committee and Lauren Rallis has also offered to work with her.

too!

FOR SALE!
Two heavy clear plastic inserts cut to fit the 24” x 12½”
opening in a sewing cabinet. (Mine is a Horn model
2078B.) The one insert is cut to fit a Viking model 500, but
may fit other models as well. The other fits a Pfaff model
2027 and may also fit others. Neither fits around my cur-
rent machine, so I’d like to sell them.
If you’re interested, let me know and you may borrow one
or both to check the fit. I can bring them to guild meeting
if you contact me.
