It is such an honor to have this grant in Lila’s name to continue her giving spirit and her love
for Kappa Alpha Theta. Lila was a Gamma Omicron Theta and President of the Albuquerque
Alumnae Chapter for 3 terms. She was the Theta of the year twice. She was Alumnae District
President for many years. She continued her service to Theta in Spokane, WA as President and
was involved with the WSU and Idaho chapters.

Theta Girls Day Out Sisterhood Event at Casa Rodena Winery. We enjoyed an afternoon wine tasting!
Sisterhood Event at the Albuquerque Botanic Gardens on August 18 for their Summer Nights Music Program.
Triad 2016
On July 16, twelve Thetas joined the Kappas and Pi Phis at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History for our annual Triad event. The Kappas hosted this year and treated us to a visual and auditory presentation by Idell Conaway, a Chi Omega and accomplished photographer and world traveler. Idell shared her amazing underwater photographs which are featured in an exhibit at the museum. She also shared her knowledge and enthusiasm for the peoples and cultures of Asia and the Pacific. An added bonus was Idell’s gift of one of her photographs to each attendee! Wow! After viewing the exhibit, we all made our way to the Church Street Café for lunch and great visiting. This great tradition of gathering the Triad continues next year when the Pi Phis will host. Watch for the announcement!

Hello Thetas! I hope you all had an enjoyable Summer! As we are gearing up for our busy Fall calendar of events, I’d like to start by letting you know what an absolutely wonderful team of officers we have serving our Albuquerque Alumnae Chapter! These women are truly top notch, work together effectively, and their dedication to all things Theta is something to be admired. Please join me in thanking them for their service when you happen to run into one of them. I personally appreciate each one of you so much! We enjoyed some fun events together this Summer, including Triad, along with a couple of Sisterhood Events. Thank you to all that attended! And a special Thank You to Sue Hutchison for serving as our Delegate at Grand Convention. Sue represented our Chapter so well and provided a very thorough report upon her return home. I am so happy Sue was joined by both of her daughters and also her granddaughter at Grand Convention. What a joyous occasion to experience together. I hope to see you all this Fall at some of our upcoming events! Please get together with a Sister and join us for some fun!

ABQ Alumnae Chapter - Convention Report By Sue Hutchison
It was my honor and privilege to represent the Albuquerque Alumnae Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at the 2016 Grand Convention June 23-26, 2016 at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. There were 143 Alumnae Delegates, 138 College Delegates, members of Grand Council, Trustees, Corporation Boards, Alumnae and College District Directors, Convention Staff and Guests among the 830 Theta attendees.
Theta has truly moved into the electronic age and our fraternity continues to grow. This fall five college chapters will be established: San Diego State, Stetson, Colorado Mines, Georgia Tech and UC Santa Cruz. Much of our fraternity business and information will now be processed through electronic messaging. Theta is on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, Snapchat and Periscope! Check out the Reading Women, Global Thetas and Theta Traveler, etc. It’s time to GET CONNECTED!
Thank you for the opportunity to represent our Albuquerque Alumnae Chapter at the 2016 Grand Convention. It was an amazing celebration of the biennium’s accomplishments and plans for the future of Kappa Alpha Theta.
