Complete Yamaha USB Driver Troubleshooting for Windows XP
After any bad MIDI/USB cables and jacks have been ruled out as culprits (byusing ith other devices! on other co"puters! sitching cables! etc#$! the
folloing steps should be perfor"ed%
Preliminary Steps
!" &ith the co"puter turned '! "ake sure that the MIDI instru"ent is alreadyturned ')! plugged into the USB MIDI interface (or cable$! and that the otherend is not plugged into the co"puter USB port yet#
NOTE: It is also a good idea to unplug any other unneeded USB devices fromthe computer, and then plug them bac in after the USB !I"I driver has beeninstalled#

Plugging into a Different USB Port
Because each USB port has its on address! &indos ill so"eti"es notrecogni+e the connection if it is attached to a different USB port than that hichas originally used during the USB Driver installation# 'n the other hand!&indos ill so"eti"es not recogni+e the connection even if it IS attached tothe original USB port! so plugging the cable into a different one and brosing to
the USB Driver again points &indos in the right direction and solves theproble",
!" -onnect the .a"aha USB MIDI interface (or cable$ a different USB port onthe co"puter# *he co"puter screen auto"atically displays the &elco"e to theound )e 0ardare &i+ard1 screen#
NOTE: On some older computers, the USB port may need to be $enabled% in thecomputer BIOS settings# If the $Ne& 'ard&are (i)ard% screen does not appear,contact the computer manufacturer for steps re*uired to enable the USB port inthe BIOS#
