The Community Development Centre has been actively working to promote and develop social entrepreneurship based on popular craftsmanship. The Centres partner workshops in Nukriani and Naphareuli produce diversified production. New thematic directions are regularly developed through joint efforts and collaboration.

In 2013-2014 under the initiative of the Community Development Centre and specifically for Nukriani and Naphareuli Workshops, an artistic and decorative version of the Georgian alphabet was developed. Individual letters of the Georgian alphabet are used as ornaments in the process of making popular crafts (felt, textile, enamel, embroidery, ceramics, knitting). This approach serves to promote the Georgian alphabet.

It is worth noting that in 2015 the living culture of three types of the Georgian alphabet continuous tradition of coexistence of Asomtavruli, Nuskhuri and Mkhedruli was granted the status of intangible monument of cultural heritage by the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia.

The present catalogue includes three artistic versions of the Georgian alphabet represented as an artistic composi-tion of old and modern alphabets and Georgian ornaments.
