K athleen Kennedy Townsendhas a long history of leadership

and accomplishment. As the first female lieutenant governor for the state of Maryland, she was in charge of a multi-million dollar budget and had responsibility for the oversight of major cabinet depart-

ments, including Economic Develop-ment and Transportation, State Police,Public Safety and Correction andJuvenile Justice. Drawing on theseexperiences, she will provide a first person view of the valuable traits andtechniques that can be exhibited in such a position. She urges her audience to seek out leadership roles,and to take the opportunity to directand lead others in a positive and meaningful way. ■
