Reading goals for your 3rd
grader:
Our reading instruction is individualized for your child. Our
goal in working with him/her is to:
1. Grow in their comprehension and understanding
of “just right” books
2. Sharpen their reading accuracy
3. Increase their reading fluency
4. Expand their vocabulary
Math goals for your 3rd grader
By the end of third grade, our goal is to help your child:
1. Build upon a basic mathematical foundation.
2. Our main focus will be on integrating
problem solving and critical thinking skills
throughout the math content.
What is intervention?
Intervention is a daily practice that will be based on individual needs of each student.
During this time, your child may visit other 3rd grade classrooms.
This time is used to reinforce or enrich certain skills that have been instructed.
The purpose of intervention is to target your child’s need and individualize instruction in a way that will be most beneficial to his or her
academic success.
Birthday Celebrations
**Please let your teacher know at
least a week ahead if you want to send treats for the class.
Also, please be considerate of
peanut/tree nut allergies.
Texas state law now prohibits any outside treats from being served in the cafeteria. We very much want to continue to recognize or special birthday students. It is our goal to celebrate your child while minimizing classroom interruptions and the intake of sugary treats.
