The Wellington
In the heart of the Hampshire countryside lies The Wellington built in the 17th Century. This delightful Farm House boasts an array of
public areas and rooms restored to their former glory, offering guests traditional elegance, combined with modern facilities.
We can accommodate weddings, large or small and with our
excellent reputation built up locally over many years together with our first class cuisine and excellent traditional hospitality, where
better to celebrate your very special day.
The Wellington’s character, grounds and lovely setting is perfect for capturing those special moments on camera or
socialising with your guests as they enjoy a Champagne Reception in the garden.
You will find that we provide an excellent service and this combined with our friendly team and atmosphere means that you and your
guests can relax and enjoy your day.
The location of The Wellington is ideal too, situated only ten miles
from Reading, eight miles from Basingstoke, with excellent motorway links to the M3 and the M4.

Your Special Day
The Hampshire Suite at The Wellington provides the perfect location for you and your guests to dine and dance into the early hours and
with an impressive array of menus, together with a delectable selection of wines to tempt everyone, your day into the evening will
be a truly memorable one.
The Hampshire Suite can cater for up to 110 during the wedding meal and an additional 65 guests can join you for your
evening Reception.
For those smaller, intimate weddings, our Wellesley Suite is perfect. It is large enough to host a wedding meal for up to 30 guests.
The Wellesley Suite is beautifully proportioned with two French doors
leading onto a private patio.
We are also privileged by The Duke of Wellington to have use of his Church on the estate. Please speak to the Wedding Co-ordinator to
discuss your requirements.

We provide comprehensive packages for you to choose from. We
also offer a wide selection of dishes from our menus for either seated or buffet meals, or if you prefer, we can prepare dishes of
your choice, by prior arrangement.
Our Food and Beverage Team & Head Chef will be happy to advise you. We will also be pleased to assist you in

We would also request that the Best Man at the end of his speech invite all guests to retire to the main lounge, which will give the guests the opportunity to freshen up and relax. This allows us to
change the room around for your evening reception.

Here at The Wellington we are proud to have our own resident DJ
Martyn Howell. Martyn has been providing entertainment for over 20 years catering for all events.
Martyn has a state of the art sound and lighting system which can
cater for all your entertainment requirements.
He is also happy to discuss your music selection direct.
Charged at £295 playing from early evening through to midnight.
A late bar is charged at £100 per house after 11.30pm
Additional information...
Should you wish to hire the entire Hotel exclusively, please speak to the Wedding Coordinator for a quote.
We can also hire larger dance floors, chair covers, chocolate foun-
tains, ice sculptures & marquees.
Ground hire for marquees is available at £1000
Included in your day;
use of a silver cake stand, a complimentary silver plated knife,
white table linen, a dedicated Wedding Coordinator,
silver table number stands, red carpet for your welcome,
the option of personalising your evening bar.

The Small Print
All bookings are considered provisional and held for 14 days from booking until a deposit, which is non-
refundable, and letter of confirmation has been received unless otherwise agreed by the hotel. Should we
receive any further enquires we have the right to ask for immediate confirmation.
One month before the wedding we will require a payment of half the initial cost of the contracted requirements and the final balance will be due 7 days before the wedding. Any other expenses oc-
curred on the day must be paid on departure.
All accounts which a query is not raised, within 7 days of presentation shall be deemed to have been
approved as shown
In the unfortunate circumstances that you have to cancel your confirmed booking at the time prior to
the event, the hotel will make every effort to resell the facilities on your behalf. Any cancellations must be confirmed in writing and the facilities you have reserved cannot be released for resell until this is
received and acknowledged. In the event that the hotel is unsuccessful in reselling the facilities you have cancelled, cancellation charges will be made as follows:
6 months – 20%, 5 – 2 months – 50%, 1 month – full charge
Please note that should you cancel prior to 6 months of the wedding date the £750 deposit is still non refundable.
We require final details of menu, approximate numbers etc, at least 1 month prior to the Wedding
We require final numbers 7 days before the wedding, this being the total number charged for.
The hotel reserves the right to the employment by the client and guests of any photographer, toastmas-ter, band, musicians or other persons in connection with any function and will, without obligation, be
pleased to give clients and guests the benefit of their advice or recommendation.
The client shall be responsible for any damage caused to allocated rooms, bedrooms or the furnishings,
utensils and equipment or any part of the hotel grounds, therein by any act default or neglect of the client,
subcontractor or guest of the client and shall pay the hotel on demand the amount required making
goods or remedying any such damage and for any loss of business caused as a result.
Functions are required to finish at the time agreed when the booking is made, as extensions to this time on the day may not be possible. The hotel reserves the right to levy additional charges where the client
fails to vacate the room at the contracted time.
Only food and beverages purchased (alcoholic & non alcoholic) from the hotel may be consumed on
the premises, with the exception of wedding cakes.
The hotel accepts no liability for items left within its care.
Room hire charges are implemented by the hotel on sliding scale for your Wedding Breakfast, as follows:
100 guests and over - £150.00
70 – 99guests - £200.00 51 – 69 guests - £350.00
50 guests and under - £500
For Hire of the Hampshire Suite for a Buffet only £500.00
(Please note, these room hire charges do not include any children that are attending the Wedding Breakfast)
