7:45‐8:30Yoga8:30‐9:00Icebreaker/Game9‐9:45ReadingsinCitizenship&HumanRightsWedoonereadingeachdaybysomeofthemostinfluentialmindsofourtime,suchasGandhi,NelsonMandela,MotherTeresa,WangariMaathai,AungSanSuuKyi.Onevolunteerwillteachthelessonusingphotos,audioclips,interactivelessons,theactualreading,andotherresourcesifneeded.9:45‐10:00TeaBreak10:00‐10:30LeadershipLesson#1Weusuallydotwoleadershiplessonseachday.Lessonsinclude:communication&relationships,problem‐solving,ethics,timemanagement,studentrecognition,goal‐setting,activity‐planning,visuals,teamworkandtrust,diversity.Onevolunteerusuallyleadseachlesson,andanothervolunteeractsasanassistant.10:30‐11:00LeadershipActivityFun,hands‐onactivitiesthatdemonstratethepointoftheleadershiplesson.Wedolotsofsmallgroupactivitiesandlotsofgroupactivitiesoutdoors.11:00‐12:00StudentLessonsThesearelessonsinstudentgovernment/managementandinclude:fundraising,webplanning,organization,computers,studentcommittees,andofficerresponsibilities.12:00‐12:30Lunch12:30‐1:30GlobalorLocalIssuesDiscussion&Activity,PracticalCareerTraining,ArtActivity,OtherDiscussion,orSpecialLesson1:30‐2:00LeadershipLesson#22:00‐2:45LeadershipActivity#22:45‐3:30Sports/Dance/Art3:30‐4:45LeadershipGroups4:45‐5:15CurrentEvents:ScenariosforCriticalThinkingVolunteerswillfindarticlesinthelocalnewspapersoronlinearticlesthattouchoncurrentevents,andthenaskstudentshowtheyasleaderswouldaddressthesituationsbeingdiscussed.
