SCIENCE EXPLORATION WITH SCIENCE BRIDGE ACADEMY 27TH - 29TH NOVEMBER I AGES: 7-12 I RM600

The Science Bridge Academy holiday programme modules have been carefully created by taking into account various disciplines of science. Students will be exposed to various scientific concepts while carrying out awesome hands-on activities and experiments.

This 3-day programme offers a total of 6 modules of science experiments:

WATER CYCLE• Learn how the water cycle process takes place in the earth atmosphere system.• Understand how rain is formed.• Learn about the different states of matter.

POLYMERS• Explore the change in physical properties of a polymer as a result of cross-linking.• Test and compare the physical properties of polymers.• Make a plastic from potato starch and investigate the effect of adding a ‘plasticiser’ on the created polymer.

NUCLEATION• Determine a material from its crystallization• Able and understand the state of matter at different temperatures.

ENDOTHERMIC AND EXOTHERMIC• Explore and understand exothermic and endothermic reactions.• Learn about chemical reactions and what happens when a volcano erupts.

SEPARATING MOLECULES• Learn about molecule mixing and separation.

COOL TOYS• Explore and build different scientific toys applying the concept of motion, gravity and magnets

CODING CAMP

Code your wildest imaginative stories into real life animation. Create interactive stories, games, animations with visual programming language, While learning to reason systematically and writing algorithms to create an intelligent artwork.

Coding, also known as programming languages, allows people to communicate with computers or smart gadgets. It is similar to the foreign languages we learn in school and anyone can master this language.

Students in this program will become more creative and gain better confidence in tackling problems on their own. This program uses simple steps and stories to introduce the wonderful world of coding to children of all ages and encourage them to create their very own art, games and music. There are different coding languages and each comes with different applications as it allows students to build different things.

For example, Scratch is the first step towards programming, combining coding and graphics and Python is suitable to create databases.

‘THE TALENTED’ PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAMME 27TH - 29TH NOVEMBER I Ages: 7-16 I RM290 per day

Numerous studies have shown that engaging in the performing arts improves cognitive, social, motor, emotional and language skills. Some courses, such as dance, are also a great way to keep fit for those who may not be interested in traditional sports. Our holiday workshops are specially designed to support, nourish and develop the students’ creativity whilst learning new skills, encouraging confidence and developing personal growth. The workshop focusses on Acting, Dance, Speech & Drama and Vocal.

Zachary Wong is a director producer who has been organising performing arts competitions, musicals and holiday workshops since 2009. His holiday workshops are led by practising industry professionals, such as Becky Lee, Sarah Ismail, just to name a few, with over 10-15 years’ experience studying, performing and teaching around the country. Most courses stage performances or screenings for family and friends at the end of the programme.

The great outdoors couldn’t be more fun than this multilevel camp.

For the beginners, expose yourself to various sports activities and you may discover some hidden talents and interests. For the expert players, enhance your skills to take you to the next level.

The sports camp offers four different sports programs - Self Defence, Basketball, Swimming and Soccer - for kids from ages 7 to 16 years old. The program provides instruction in a friendly, helpful manner while nurturing fun while learning.

Public speaking is an essential skill that helps to enhance your child’s communication skills.

The programme will teach participants public speaking skills and confidence development. The focus will be on the following components:

PUBLIC COMMUNICATION, SPEAKING AND PRESENTATION TECHNIQUESTheoretical understanding of communication strategy and technique as well as understanding non-verbal cues are important to allow speakers to tailor the contents of the speech for the listener. This is important for effective and persuasive speech for the students.

CREATING GOOD AND LASTING IMPRESSION, PERSUASION AND CONFIDENCE DEVELOPMENTA more practical and hands on focus is necessary for speakers to be able to overcome fears and build confidence to speak. Being able to story-tell is an important aspect of any form of public speaking, and this comes with its own manner therapy and lessons.

Day 2 is competition day. All participants will have the opportunity to take part in the competition with lots of prizes to be won.
