App: Strip Designer/Comic Strip
In a nutshell:Create your own comics using photographs or images
saved from the internet. Add speech bubbles, action
stickers and text boxes. Export to photo roll. Comic Life
has basic layouts and limited stickers. Strip Designer has
more advanced options.
Lesson Ideas:English
Speech marks Have students create a comic using speech marks, then write theconversation using direct speech.
Onomatopoeia Investigate the use of onomatopoeia in comics then create your ownusing the action stickers.
Writing Turn a section of a novel/reader into a comic or write a new ending for thestory in comic format.
Maths Snap some shots around the classroom or playground. Use the speech bubbles to
identify different mathematical aspects e.g. angles, 3D shapes, 2D shapes, symmetry,
patterns, tessellations.
PD/Health/PE
Create comics showing positive interactions with others e.g. iMessages. Create comics demonstrating a procedure e.g. wash your hands, throw a ball.
Science
Create a fact sheet about an animal. Use text boxes and speech bubbles to havethe animal interact with the audience.

How to use Strip Designer
1. Open the app and tap on Create new.2. Select a style for your comic. You can choose
to create your own from scratch.3. Select the layout of your comic.
4. Tap on Add photo to add a photo or drawing. Select the moreoption to take a photo with the iPad camera.
5. Use the options toolbar to zoom in or out, add a frame or filteror draw on your photo.

6. Click on ADD to add speech bubbles, stickers, text boxes or
drawings to your comic strip.

How to use Comic Strip
1. Tap the arrow at the bottom ofthe page to select your template.
2. Tap on a blue plus sign to adda photo to your comic strip. You
can pick from the iPad photo
library or take a new photo.
3. You can adjust the positioning of the photo by tapping on it andmoving your finger.
4. Tap on ADD CAPTIONS to add speech bubbles and a limitedrange of stickers.
5. When youre done, tap on SAVE & PUBLISHto save your imageto the photo library. You can email it from there.

App: iMotion HD
In a nutshell
Create a stop motion animation using a series ofphotographs. Exports to the camera roll as a movie file. Completed
animation can be imported into iMovie to create voice overs, insert text
and add transitions.

How to use iMotion HD
1. Storyboard an idea.2. Create your background and organise any props.3. Open iMotion HD and select NEW MOVIE4. To create a time lapse video leave the time lapse button selected, adjust the
interval speed and give your movie a name before hitting start.
5. To create a stop motion video select MANUAL and give your video a name.6. Click START.7.Adjust your iPad so that your background is neatly in the camera frame.8. Select CAPTURE to take a photo.9. Move your objects/props etc and then select CAPTURE again.10. Continue capturing photos to create your animation.11. When all your frames are complete, click STOP.12. Click STOP again to confirm that you are done.13. You can adjust the frame rate of your animation if you want.14. Click EXPORT to send your completed animation to the photo library.15. Go to the photo library on the iPad, select the movie and email it to
whoever you wish to share it with.
Extra features
In the OPTIONS menu you can switch the focus between auto and manual,turn the onion skin on/off (so you can see a ghost of the previous frame) and
turn the grid feature on/off (helps with positioning).
You can preview each photo and remove photos from the animation by usingthe TOOLS option before you export.

In a nutshell:
Create a talking avatar with your very own background.Exports to camera roll as a movie. Extension: Record a series of gamis
and import them all into iMovie to create a longer presentation.
Lesson Ideas:English
Create a news report. Obtain an image from a recent news event then create abroadcast from the location reporting as an on the scene reporter.

How to Use Tellagami
1. Open the app and click CREATE.2. Click on CHARACTER and then customise your character by
adjusting their body and wardrobe features.

4.Add a background. You can use one from your photo library or you can take aphoto now using TAKE PHOTO. There are also some default ones you can use.

How to use Socrative1. Set up an account using the Teacher app or online at

2. Log in to your account on a computer or using the teacher app. Take note ofyour virtual room number. This is the number you will give your students to
log in and complete your quiz.

4. Select Create quiz5. Give your quiz a name and then select if you
would like to add a multiple choice or short
answer style question.
6. Multiple Choice - Type in your question and themultiple choice answers. Be sure to put a tick in
the box next to the correct answer.
7. Short Answer Type in your question. You cantype in an explanation to give students after
they have answered the question if you wish.
8. Continue adding questions (you can mixmultiple choice and short answer in one quiz).
9. When you are finished tap on the SAVE button. Youcan EDIT your quiz at any time under the Manage
Quizzes section.
10. To run a quiz for students to complete go back to the Main screen bytapping on the button in the top left corner.

11. Select Start Quiz from the menu.
12. Select your chosen quiz from the dropdown menu. You can then select to run
the quiz as student paced or teacher
paced.
13. Additional options are available below.
14. ON the quiz has started tap on LIVERESULTS to see student results as they
complete the test.
15. When all students have completedthe quiz tap on END ACTIVITY. You
will then be given the option to have
the results directly emailed to you.
