This Addendum includes the following changes and clarifications to the Contract Documents:
RESPONSES TO BIDDER QUESTIONS NOT REQUIRING CHANGE TO THE BIDDING
DOCUMENTS:
• The ceiling plenums are not used for air circulation. There is no requirement that
all plumbing and electrical items in the plenum be “plenum rated.” However, the
Contractor must adhere to all specifications for items in the plenum including
cast iron plumbing and plenum rated cable for fire alarm wiring.
• There is no new IDF in this project. Connections are to be made to the existing
IDF which is in the closet in the existing Main Office across the hall from the new
addition.

HVAC CONTROLS ALLOWANCE. The undersigned agrees that it will use as the subcontractor
for HVAC Monitoring and Control System (EMCS) Work and for related electrical Work
shown on the drawings, Siemens Industry Inc., a subcontractor selected by the owner, for a
subcontract price of Eleven Thousand One Hundred Thirty-seven Dollars ($11,137), and
that this quote has been included in the TOTAL BASE BID AMOUNT below. The
undersigned agrees that it will be responsible for this subcontractor and its work just as if it
had been selected by the undersigned.

TEMPORARY VIDEO INTERCOM ALLOWANCE. The undersigned agrees a price of Four
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($4,500), has been included in the TOTAL BASE BID
AMOUNT below for installation of a temporary video intercom and electric strike for a
remote “buzz-in” system to communicate between the temporary student entrance at the
east end of the school and the existing Main Office to permit controlled access. Details of
this system will be supplied at a later date.

The undersigned understands that time is of the essence and agrees that the date for Substantial Completion shall be on or before August 4, 2018, based on a Notice authorizing Work to proceed with an early start of October 1, 2017, and Final Completion shall be achieved on or before September 4, 2018. The undersigned further understands that to minimize the duration of disruption to the School’s operations, the Contractor will have 180 days from commencement of activities on site to reach Substantial Completion. The Contractor must achieve Final Completion within 30 consecutive calendar days after the date of Substantial Completion as determined by the A/E. Damages for Delay as described in the Supplemental General Conditions shall be assessed if the Contractor does not reach Substantial and Final Completion by the dates identified above, or by 180 and 210 days respectively after commencement of activities on site, whichever comes first.

PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 The following information is included in the Project Manual for bidders’ information, but is notpart of the Contract Documents, and does not relieve the bidders from doing their owninvestigation to determine the accuracy of the information.A. 1.2 STATEMENT CONCERNING THE SURVEYA. The reports and samples of hazardous materials encountered were obtained by the Owner.B. The hazardous material samples and analysis were performed by Schneider Laboratories
Global, Inc., in accordance with their system of analysis and sampling and they, SchneiderLaboratories Global, Inc., neither the Owner, the Architect, or his consultants guarantee theaccuracy or consistency of the information contained within the Hazardous Material Surveywith the actual conditions.
C. Any radical deviation from the anticipated material, as indicated by the reports, duringdemolition Work should be reported to the Owner immediately and confirmed in writing.
1.3 CONFIRMATION OF HAZARDOUS MATERIAL CONTAINING MATERIALSA. Contractor is responsible for the proper abatement of any Asbestos Containing materials found
during demolition. Owner testing and records indicate that ACM has been identified in thelight fixture insulation pad, room B214 closet and on the White Mastic on the foil duct wrap inB214. Contractor is responsible for notifying owner of any suspicious material, in particularMastic for old chalk or display boards or floor tile and or mastic found under existingconditions.
B. Bidders, Contractors, and any others who are concerned with, or are affected by the test resultsare permitted to make their own tests at the site at their own expense. Coordinate with theOwner.

PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARYA. This Section includes the following:
1. Adhered membrane roofing system.
1.2 DEFINITIONSA. Roofing Terminology: Refer to ASTM D 1079 and glossary of NRCA's "The NRCA Roofing
and Waterproofing Manual" for definition of terms related to roofing work in this Section.B. Design Uplift Pressure: The uplift pressure, calculated according to procedures in SPRI's
"Wind Load Design Guide for Fully Adhered and Mechanically Fastened Roofing Systems,"before multiplication by a safety factor.
1.3 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTSA. General: Provide installed roofing membrane and base flashings that remain watertight; do not
permit the passage of water; and resist specified uplift pressures, thermally induced movement,and exposure to weather without failure.
B. Material Compatibility: Provide roofing materials that are compatible with one another underconditions of service and application required, as demonstrated by roofing membranemanufacturer based on testing and field experience.
C. Roofing System Design: Provide a membrane roofing system that is identical to systems thathave been successfully tested by a qualified testing and inspecting agency to resist the designuplift pressures calculated according to building code.1. Design Uplift Pressure: As required by code and manufacturers professional engineers
design calculations.
1.4 SUBMITTALSA. Product Data: For each type of product indicated.B. Shop Drawings: For roofing system. Include plans, elevations, sections, details, and
attachments to other Work.1. Base flashings and membrane terminations.
C. Installer Certificates: Signed by roofing system manufacturer certifying that Installer isapproved, authorized, or licensed by manufacturer to install roofing system.
D. Manufacturer Certificates: Signed by roofing manufacturer certifying that roofing systemcomplies with requirements specified in "Performance Requirements" Article.1. Submit evidence of meeting performance requirements.

J. Inspection Report: Copy of roofing system manufacturer's inspection report of completedroofing installation.1. Provide qualifications of manufacturer's field representative, as required under Field
Quality Control.2. Indicate procedures followed, ambient temperatures and wind velocity during application.
K. Professional Engineers Certification:1. System manufacturer shall supply Contractor signed and sealed ASCE 7-10 Design
Velocity Pressure Calculation for Project with complimentary roof plan delineating field,perimeter and corner area dimensions.
2. System manufacturer shall also provide signed and sealed written certificate from aProfessional Engineer verifying that manufacturers system meets and/or exceeds theDesign Velocity Pressure Calculation for all areas of the roof. NOTE: submit roof planwith exact system attachment and assembly per each area.
L. Emergency Response Plan:1. Any damage to the building caused by the Work, leaks or accidents must be addressed
immediately by the Contractor as an emergency.2. The Contractor must respond to leaks or problems at the site during construction with a
repair crew within three hours of phone notification.3. Provide a complete emergency telephone list for at least three responsible company
representatives that will be on call during the course of the Project; include cell phonenumbers, pager numbers and home phone numbers.
4. Designate one emergency contact in writing to Owner on a weekly basis.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCEA. Installer Qualifications: A qualified firm that is approved, authorized, or licensed by roofing
system manufacturer to install manufacturer's product and that is eligible to receivemanufacturer's warranty.1. Installer’s Field Supervision: Maintain a full-time supervisor/foreman on job site during
all phases of sheet roofing work and at any time roofing work is in progress; propersupervision of workmen must be maintained. A copy of the specification, pertinentdetails, and manufacturer's instructions to be in the possession of the supervisor/foremanand on the roof at all times.
B. Manufacturer Qualifications: A qualified manufacturer that has UL listing for membraneroofing system identical to that used for this Project.1. Provide a factory trained technician for participation in the pre-installation conference,
weekly and final inspection of the roofing system.2. Provide a warranty upon satisfactory installation of the roofing system.
C. Single Source Limitations: Obtain components for membrane roofing system from a singleroofing membrane manufacturer.
D. Fire-Test-Response Characteristics: Provide membrane roofing materials with thefire-test-response characteristics indicated as determined by testing identical products per testmethod below by UL, FMG, or another testing and inspecting agency acceptable to authoritieshaving jurisdiction. Materials shall be identified with appropriate markings of applicabletesting and inspecting agency.1. Exterior Fire-Test Exposure: Class A; ASTM E 108, for application and roof slopes

12. Review roof observation and repair procedures after roofing installation.
1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLINGA. Deliver roofing materials to Project site in original containers with seals unbroken and labeled
with manufacturer's name, product brand name and type, date of manufacture, and directionsfor storing and mixing with other components.
B. Store liquid materials in their original undamaged containers in a clean, dry, protected locationand within the temperature range required by roofing system manufacturer. Protect storedliquid material from direct sunlight.1. Discard and legally dispose of liquid material that cannot be applied within its stated shelf
life.C. Handle and store roofing materials and place equipment in a manner to avoid permanent
deflection of deck.
1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONSA. Weather Limitations: Proceed with installation only when existing and forecasted weather
conditions permit roofing system to be installed according to manufacturer's writteninstructions and warranty requirements.
1.8 WARRANTYA. Special Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form, without monetary limitation, in which
manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of membrane roofing system that fail inmaterials or workmanship within specified warranty period including material and labor. Failure includes roof leaks.1. Special warranty includes roofing membrane, base flashings, roofing membrane
accessories, and other components of membrane roofing system.2. Warranty Period: 20 years from date of Substantial Completion.

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATIONA. Examine substrates, areas, and conditions, with Installer present, for compliance with
conditions affecting performance of roofing system.
3.2 PREPARATIONA. Clean substrate of dust, debris, moisture, and other substances detrimental to roofing
installation according to roofing system manufacturer's written instructions. Remove sharpprojections.

B. Complete terminations and base flashings and provide temporary seals to prevent water fromentering completed sections of roofing system at the end of the workday or when rain isforecast. Remove and discard temporary seals before beginning work on adjoining roofing.
3.3 INSTALLATION - INSULATIONA. Lay insulation with longest dimension perpendicular to direction of membrane seams, with
joints staggered and tightly butted.B. Install insulation to fit tightly around projections.
1. Insulation joints shall be 1/4" or less in width; joints wider than 1/4" shall be filled inwith appropriate insulation.
2. All joints shall be staggered; stagger joints within layers at least 6"; offset joints ofoverlaying layers, at least 6" in both directions, from joints of previous layer.
C. Secure insulation in place with screw and plate type fastener.D. Install insulation fasteners with depth-sensing screw fastening tool to prevent overdriving.E. Replace broken insulation with undamaged pieces, 6” by 6” minimum, properly fastened in
place.F. Do not install more insulation than can be covered and made watertight with roofing membrane
by end of same working day.G. Taper insulation around roof drains to prevent membrane from bridging.
3.4 ADHERED ROOFING MEMBRANE INSTALLATIONA. Install roofing membrane over area to receive roofing according to membrane roofing system
manufacturer's written instructions. Unroll roofing membrane and allow to relax beforeinstalling.
B. Start installation of roofing membrane in presence of membrane roofing system manufacturer'stechnical personnel.
C. Accurately align roofing membrane and maintain uniform side and end laps of minimumdimensions required by manufacturer. Stagger end laps.
D. Bonding Adhesive: Apply solvent-based bonding adhesive to substrate and underside ofroofing membrane at rate required by manufacturer and allow to partially dry before installingroofing membrane. Do not apply bonding adhesive to splice area of roofing membrane.
E. Seams: Clean seam areas, overlap roofing membrane, and hot-air weld side and end laps ofroofing membrane according to manufacturer's written instructions to ensure a watertight seaminstallation.1. Minimum Seam Width: 1 1/2 inch.2. All seams to be rolled during hot air welding process.3. Test lap edges with probe to verify seam weld continuity. Apply lap sealant to seal cut
edges of roofing membrane.4. Verify field strength of seams a minimum of twice daily and repair seam sample areas.5. Repair tears, voids, and lapped seams in roofing membrane that does not meet
requirements.
3.5 BASE FLASHING INSTALLATIONA. Install sheet flashings and preformed flashing accessories and adhere to substrates according to
membrane roofing system manufacturer's written instructions.

B. Apply solvent-based bonding adhesive to substrate and underside of sheet flashing at requiredrate and allow to partially dry. Do not apply bonding adhesive to seam area of flashing.
C. Flash penetrations and field-formed inside and outside corners with sheet flashing.D. Clean seam areas and overlap and firmly roll sheet flashings into the adhesive. Weld side and
end laps to ensure a watertight seam installation.E. Terminate and seal top of sheet flashings and mechanically anchor to substrate through
termination bars.
3.6 FIELD QUALITY CONTROLA. Testing Agency: Owner may engage a qualified independent testing and inspecting agency to
perform roof tests and inspections and to prepare test reports.B. Final Roof Inspection: Arrange for roofing system manufacturer's technical personnel to
inspect roofing installation on completion and submit report to Architect.1. Notify Architect or Owner 48 hours in advance of date and time of inspection.
C. Repair or remove and replace components of membrane roofing system where test results orinspections indicate that they do not comply with specified requirements.
D. Additional testing and inspecting, at Contractor's expense, will be performed to determinecompliance of replaced or additional work with specified requirements.
3.7 PROTECTING AND CLEANINGA. Protect membrane roofing system from damage and wear during remainder of construction
period. When remaining construction will not affect or endanger roofing, inspect roofing fordeterioration and damage, describing its nature and extent in a written report, with copies toArchitect and Owner.
B. Correct deficiencies in or remove membrane roofing system that does not comply withrequirements, repair substrates, and repair or reinstall membrane roofing system to a conditionfree of damage and deterioration at time of Substantial Completion and according to warrantyrequirements.
C. Clean overspray and spillage from adjacent construction using cleaning agents and proceduresrecommended by manufacturer of affected construction.

roofing and other adjacent work to ensure weathertight construction.
3.2 PREPARATIONA. Apply 1 coat of protective coating to concealed aluminum and steel surfaces in contact with
dissimilar materials.
3.3 INSTALLATIONA. Install metal-framed skylights in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.B. Set skylight structure plumb, level, and true to line, without warp or rack of frames or glazing
panels. Anchor securely in place in accordance with approved shop drawings.C. Maintain assembly dimensional tolerances, aligning with adjacent work.D. Apply minimum 1 coat of bituminous coating to concealed aluminum and steel surfaces in
contact with dissimilar metals.E. Install sill flashings.F. Pack fibrous insulation in shim spaces at perimeter of assembly to ensure continuity of thermal
barrier.G. Install glazing in accordance with Section 08 80 00 and skylight manufacturers requirements.H. Mask adjacent surfaces, clean joint surfaces, and install backing and field-applied sealants in
accordance with requirements of Section 07 90 05.I. Touch up damaged finishes so repair is imperceptible from 6 feet. Remove and replace
components that cannot be satisfactorily touched up.
