iyyaaka na'`budu wa iyyaaka nasta'eenu
اهدن لا ﴾٦﴿ لمستقااط ر%صا ال م يof the straight to the path guide us
ih`dina alSSiraaTa al`mustaqeema
لذين انعمت عليهم ااط رص لا > � upon them You bestowed favors of those the path
SiraaTa alladheena an`'amta 'alayhim ...
غير ع ﴾٧﴿ لمغضوب عليهم ولا ا ن ي%لا�ضالof those who go astray and not upon themselves those who earned your anger not of

Chapter 1 The Opening
In the name of Allāh, the full and continuous source of love, mercy, compassion and kindness
2 All praise (thanks, gratitude) are due to Allāh, The rabb (Lord, Sustainer, Cherisher) of the 'aalameen (worlds, universe, all that exists, all being)
3 al`rraHmaan (The Most, Instant, Full Source of Mercy, Grace, Beneficence, Compassion, Love, Kindness)
al`rraHeem (The Continuous, Special Source of Mercy, Grace, Beneficence, Compassion, Love, Kindness)
4 maalik (Master, King, Lord, Owner, Judge, Sovereign) of the Day of Judgement (Recompense, Requital, Reckoning)
5 You alone we worship (serve, obey) and You alone we we seek help (aid, succour, assistance)
6 Guide (show, keep, direct) us to the Straight Path (Righty Way)
7 The Path (Way) of those whom You have favored (blessed, rewarded, bestowed Your Grace) Not (the path) of those who have incurred (earned) Your wrath (anger), Nor (the path) of those who are astray (misguided, lost, faltered and deviated from the Straight Path)

تبت يد لا ﴾١﴿ � ابي لها �ب تو ب$and Perish he (fully) of Abu Lahab (Father of Flame) the hands perish
tabbat yadaa abee lahabin wataba
اغنى عنه ماله وما كسام لا ﴾٢﴿ ب $he earned and what his wealth him will avail not
maa aghna 'anhu maaluhu wa maa kasaba
سيصلى ن ج ﴾٣﴿ ذات لهارا ب blazing/flaming which is in a fire he will be burnt
sayaSlaa naaran dhaata lahabin
مراته حاو ط ﴾٤﴿ $ الة �م لحطا ب of firewood the carrier and his wife
wamra`atuhu Hammaalata al`HaTabi
في جيدها ح ع ﴾٥﴿ دس�م نDمل بtwisted fibre/strands of will be a rope her neck around
fee jeedihaa Hablun mmin mmasadin

Chapter 111 Palm-Fiber (Flame)
1 (Shall, Let, May) Perish (condemned, doomed, ruined, lost) the hands (works, power) of Abû Lahab (Father of Flame, an uncle of the Prophet [S]) and (let himself be, shall he) perish (condemned, doomed, ruined, lost) 2 his wealth (property, posession, money, riches) and gains (earnings, children) will not avail (benefit, profit, exempt, help, suffice) him 3 he will burn (roast, suffer, endure) a fire of blazing (smokeless, glowing, fierce) flame 4 and his wife also, carrier (bearer, laden) of firewood (fuel, slander, persecution, slander, who threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's [S] way)

لم يل لا ﴾٣﴿ ولم يولد د is born not and begets nor
lam yalid wa lam yooladu
ولم يك ع ﴾٤﴿ له كفون احا� د &any one equal/like for him there is and not
walam yakunllahu kufuwan aHadun

Chapter 112 The Unity, The Sincerity, The Purification/Decleration of the Unity of God
In the name of Allāh, the full and continuous source of love, mercy, compassion and kindness
1 Say: He is Allāh, (Who is) aHad (One, Unique, Alone, One and Only, Unique One of Absolute Oneness) 2 Allāh, (Who is) the Samad (Eternally-Besought-of-All, Uncaused Cause of All Being, Absolute, Eternal, Unique, Self- Sufficient, Perfect, Independent, Whom all depend, called upon) 3 He begets not, nor is He begotten 4 And there is none (nothing) comparable (equal, like, match) to Him
1 Tawheed, aHad: The Transcendent One, whose Oneness excludes all notion of duality.
3 Clear and concise refutation of pagan deities, false tendencies of likening God to his creation as in act of begetting
4 Refutation of deviant tendencies and supersititions such as anthromorphic tendencies, deification of angels, association of other personalities with the Godhead of the one and only God, making Prophets or some godly persons into incarnations of God, personification of the Attributes of God as seperate Divine persons.

شر ما خلنم لا ﴾٢﴿ ق * He created of what the evil From
min sharri maa khalaqa
وم لا ﴾٣﴿ شر غاسق اذا وقن ب *it is overspread when of darkness the evil and from
wamin sharri ghaasiqin idhaa waqaba
وم لا ﴾٤﴿ فاثات في �نال* شر ن لعقا� د and from
wamin sharri alnnaffaathaati fial`'uqadi
وم ﴾٥﴿ شر حاسد اذا حسن د *
wamin sharri Haasidin idhaa Hasada

Chapter 113 Daybreak, Dawn
In the name of Allāh, the full and continuous source of love, mercy, compassion and kindness
1 Say: I seek refuge (protection) in (from, with) the Rabb (Lord, Sustainer, Cherisher) of daybreak (rising dawn, light) 2 From the evil (mischief, ill) of what He has created 3 And from the evil (mischief) of the (black, intense) darkness (of night, of ignorance) when (as, if) it descends (overspreads, comes, falls, invades, settles, is encountered, gloomy) 4 And from (against) the evil (mischief) of the witches (magicians, sorceresses, troublemakers) who blow on knots (to cast a spell, secretly, to complicate the simple) 5 And from (against) the evil (mischief) of the envious (with jealousy) when he envies (and tries to harm)

ملك لا ﴾٢﴿ س ا�نالof humankind King/Sovereign
maliki alnnaasi
اله لا ﴾٣﴿ س ا�نالof humankind God
ilaahi alnnaasi
لوسواس ا, شر نم لا ﴾٤﴿ س ا�نخلاwho withdraws of the whisperer the evil from

2 Sovereign (King, Master, Lord, Owner, Judge) of humankind (mankind, men, people)
3 The God (Deity) of humankind (mankind, men, people)
4 From (against) the evil (mischief, ill) of the whisperer (tempter, satans) who withdraws (sneaks, slinks, elusive)
5 Who whispers (tempts, inspires) in the the hearts (chests, breasts) of humankind (mankind, men, people)
6 From (among, temptetion to evil by) the jinn (demonic, invisible sources) and humankind (mankind, men, people)
