A science graduate from university of Karachi and a Master Mariner, Capt. Azhar has over 21 years of experience in various classes of non-life insurance. The on shore and off shore shipping Career of Capt. Azhar, before joining the insurance industry is spanned over 18 years.

He has been affiliated with IAP for a number of years and had served as Chairman of Accident Committee and Vice Chairman of the Executive committee in past.

Capt. Azhar is a certified Director from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance and IFC and is currently working for Alfalah Insurance Company as Executive Director.
