It is funded by both the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB); which is an independent government entity within the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) that aims to be the globally preferred partner in designing and developing defense products and security solutions in the region, and the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD).
Statement of Teaching:
The academia is a passion and it’s not for everyone. Thus, the opportunities to enhance
and boost your teaching skills, working with students and developing your own
educational materials are the primary reasons for seeking an academic career.
I have dedicated much of my time since I have got my Bachelor degree in 1999 to
enhance and build my academic background and teaching experience. Over this period, I
have acquired extensive and comprehensive teaching experience starting from teaching
and supervising engineering laboratories, getting my Master of Science in electrical
engineering and till achieving my Philosophy of Doctorate in Communications and
Electronics engineering in 2006.
In 2004, I have got a scholarship from Philadelphia University to attain my PhD degree in
Communications and Electronics Engineering from De Montfort University (DMU) in
the United Kingdom. I have been employed by DMU as a part-time lecturer several times
during the period of getting my degree.
In 2007, I have granted my first academic title as an assistant professor from Philadelphia
University. From that’s date, my scholarly interests fall into the physical layer of the
mobile cellular systems in addition to the electronics based modifications. This is
specified as:
PORTFOLIO
OFDM issues, which contain the synchronization in addition to the
PAPR.
MIMO systems performance
Coding techniques and their usage in the cellular systems.
Signal processing techniques; FT, Wavelet Discrete Transforms and Neural
Networks.
Electronics and Solar Diodes.
The collaborative authorship is one of the main issues that I am trying to spread and to
reflect using my teaching philosophy; thus, I encouraging the student-centered teaching
instead of the "full frontal teaching" method in addition to make the class as a
community. This means that in both composition and literature classes, I have students
spend a fair amount of time in smaller groups in which they not only talk and think
together, but write together. During the last five years I have taught around 16 different
courses starting from the basics in engineering to specialized topics.
Teaching Philosophy:
It is obvious that the student who is interested in a subject will become a creative.
However, not every student has this state of mind. Therefore, a huge responsibility will
be burden on the teacher’s shoulders to change the mood of these students and present the
subject in a simple and interesting manner.
Also, one of the important things in teaching the introductory courses is to show them
how to approach the subject. Moreover, emphasizing the topics is crucial in higher-level
courses, thus the students will learn the real meaning of planning, design, and work as a
team. Finally, the ability to intelligently and objectively critique the work of others is a
necessary pioneer to being able to accurately evaluate one’s own work.
Teaching Style:
To have a successful teaching process, the principle of teaching style should be divided
into the following:
Grading policies:
Fair and clear policies should be declared. This will help them to focus on how will
receive a good grade.
Goals:
First policy to be set is clear and realistic goals since that the challenging and
achievable goals initiate the students fast response. This will enhance the students’
accomplishment sense and do not make them either feel boring or frustrate them.
Misconceptions:
It is important to identify and fix misconceptions early, since you will experience
difficulties when they take root.
The vital factor; the students:
PORTFOLIO
Students should be involved in the teaching process. They must have the passion to
learn; be active rather than passive observers. They understand firmly from what
doesn’t work as learning what does. Rather than memorizing the correct answers, they
should be encouraged to learn from their mistakes and why the incorrect answer is
wrong.
Furthermore, interests and needs of each student should be respected. This will help
them in achieving their goals. This is due to different background and level of
preparation for them. Student engagement is useful especially after any major idea.
This could be attained by unmarked quizzes to engage them and identify any
misconception. Moreover, it’s a marker to show how well I am in explaining the
material and holding the students attention. Sometimes, it is useful to get their
feedback using a short questionnaire even once a semester. Therefore, the engagement
is a crucial element during the class.
Inclusive Education: In relation to students, the issue of equity is considered as a major force internationally.
Thus, I am trying to spread and to reflect using my teaching philosophy; thus, I
encouraging the student-centered teaching instead of the "full frontal teaching" method in
addition to make the class as a community. This means that in both composition and
literature classes, students spend a fair amount of time in smaller groups in which they
not only talk and think together, but write together. Students should be involved in the
