ANOTEFROMTHEPRINCIPAL:JAMESALESHIRE

Iwouldliketowelcomeeveryonethe18-19schoolyear.ThisyearwewillbeinthesecondyearofimplementationofourInternationalBaccalureateCareer-relatedProgramme.ThisprogramisanextensionofourInternationalBaccalureateDiplomaProgramme-whichhasbeeninourschoolfor13years.AswecontinuetodevelopprogramsandoptionsforourstudentswewouldalsoliketoannouncethatweareworkingwithNorthernMiddleSchooltobecomeaMiddleYearsProgramme(MYP)schoolaswell.Thisprogramwouldrunfromgrades6-10andyouwillbehearingalotaboutthisprogramoverthenextyearatbothschoolsasweworktomeetcertificationtobecomeanapprovedschool.IalsowanttogiveashoutouttoourAVIDprogramforstudentsingrades9-12.Thisprogramcontinuestostrengthenandsupportfirstgenerationcollegestudentswiththeirquestinapplyingtoandattendingcollege.Anothergreatprogramthatcontinuestosupportourstudentsisthe9thGradeAcademy–Icouldnotbeprouderofaprogramthatsupportsincoming9thgradersandtheirsuccessduringtheircriticalfreshmanyearofhighschool.Alloftheseprograms,aswellasourCareerTechnologyprogramsarehowwefindaplaceforeachstudentduringtheir4years.Ilookforwardtoagreatyearofworkingwithyouandyourstudent(s).#HubPride

“Hello!MynameisMr.Stike,andIamexcitedtobeaHub.IwasbornandraisedinWaynesboro,PAandcurrentlyresideinGreencastlewithmy11-year-oldson,Colin.IattendedWestChesterUniversity(nearPhiladelphia)formyBachelor’sDegree,andFrostburgandUSMHformyMaster’sdegree.Itaughtfor11yearsandhavebeenanadministratorfor7years.Inadditiontomycommitmenttoeducation,IserveastheCommanderofthe287thArmyNationalGuardBandoutofWilmington,DE,whereIhaveservedfor19yearsandwasjustpromotedtoChiefWarrantOfficer3.Iamaprofessionalmusician,agolfhack,amoderaterunner,afoodie,andI’manavidfanoftheBaltimoreOriolesandthePhiladelphiaEagles.IcannotwaittogettoknowtheHubcommunityandlookforwardtoknowingandworkingwithourparentsandstudents.”
