    FoundationsofTechnology1isdesignedtogivestudentsabasicunderstandingoftechnology,theDesignCycle,andsystems.TheMYPconceptsofcommunications,holisticlearning,andinterculturalawarenesswillbeincorporatedasstudentslearnhowtechnologyhasimpactedtheworld.

    TheIBLearnerProfilewillbeimplementeddaily.Eachdayalearnerprofilequalitywillbeselectedthataddressesthefocusofthelessonfor

    thatspecificday.TheAreasofInteraction(AOI)willbeakeycomponentofeachofourclassunits.TheunitsandtheircorrespondingAOIcanbe

    foundinthetablebelow.ApproachestoLearningwillbeanAOIthatwillbeaddressedineveryunit.Studentswilldiscoverdifferenttypesof

    technologyandskillsthathe/shewillbeabletouseinfuturecareers.Wewillusevariousresourcesandequipmenttoaccomplishthis.For

    example,GarageBand,ComicLife,iMovie,circuits,PowerGame,creatinganeggdropandbridges.Withineachoftheseunitsthefollowing

    methodologieswillbeused;directinstruction,demonstrations,cooperativegroupwork,independentlearning,andstudentreflection.Both

    formativeandsummativeassessmentwillbeusedthroughoutthiscourse.GradingpolicyforacademicandIBgradeswillfollowourschool

    assessmentpolicy.StudentswillhavetheopportunitytoearnanIBgradeforeachtechnologycriterionmultipletimesthroughoutthecourse.
