introduction
The Current Uses Of Motion Graphics And Compositing Video
(Research)
What is motion graphics?
Motion Graphics are graphics that uses video footage alongside with animation technology to create an effect that could consist of an illusion, rotation and a motion.
Motion Graphics are commonly used within film and television, in many films and television programs. Usually within film the opening/title sequence uses motion graphics a very good example of this is ‘James Bond – Casino Royale’ uses motion graphics throughout its opening sequence, motion graphics are also used often within title sequences so that the editors are able to be more creative whilst controlling the colors to suggest the tone of the film ETC

The start of the motion graphics takes play at 0:03 and pretty much continues the whole way through, but as we progress further within the credits the motion graphics then start to become more elaborate and detailed an good example of this is at 0:20 when ‘Bond’ is shown sitting on a line of spades with his weapon. For me this title sequence is captivating seeing as they have followed the theme of the film within the title sequence as well as using non-diegetic music to compliment the picture.
When considering creating motion graphics we have many programs/technology available to us they are based around the same idea but some are more prestigious than others these programs range from editing (Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro) To special effects programs such as Adobe After Effects or Cinema 4D etc.
Television Show Graphics
Tv show graphics consist a set piece of film that was already taken and then has been altered with 3D graphic animation software to create objects that they would like to use to manipulate the video this could be many things, mainly channel indent's use this technique.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Pqehql1xU0
As you can see this is the channel 4 ident where the broken down castle comes into place for a brief period of time
Resembling the shape of a 4 representative of channel 4’s logo.
As soon as you start to watch the ident you then come to terms that the shot is a normal shot until you hit 0:35 this is when though shot looks as if the ruins is really assembling the shape of a 4 when in theory these pieces have been manipulated into place.

In this advert they have used green screen as the background and then altered it so it looks like they have used a bunch of lights that are operating the same time as the music.
