SISTER SCHOOL VISIT
Our sister school visit from Tenma-cho Elementary School
has once again come and gone very quickly. The visit
commenced with our spectacular multicultural welcome
assembly on Thursday 26th July and it was wonderful to see so
many families there to help celebrate our cultural diversity
with our international guests.
The exchange program between our schools is a wonderful
experience for our school community and one we very much
value. It was wonderful to see both our Kings Park and
Tenmacho students and teachers engaged, having fun and
learning together. We hope that all of our students had many
enjoyable experiences with our visitors and we look forward
to sharing many more when we visit Tenmacho Elementary
School again next year.
To our host families I thank you for your generosity in
providing a home away from home for a visiting Japanese
students and for looking after our visitors so well. This very
special school event would not have been possible without
your support. Arigato Gozaimashita

Mural and ‘Helping Hands’Project
Thank you to everyone for your donations of plastic lids for our sea mural (designed by Jennifer 5C). The students are currently working on the mural and it looks amazing.
KEEP COLLECTING THOSE LIDS!
We have decided to become involved in the Envision project called ‘Helping Hands’. This project aims to collect 1,000,000 bottle tops which are recycled and turned into prosthetic hands and arms for children in war torn and developing countries. Please keep saving your plastic lids, wash them and send along to the Art room.
Ukulele
The ‘King Strings’ will start up again in week 4, Monday 6th August. We get together every Monday at lunch time in the Art room. We will start again with the basics- how to hold a ukulele, simple chords and working on some easy songs. There are still places available. Students who want to join must commit to coming along every week. Add your name to the list outside the Art room or see Jan if you’re interested.
