Thedirect-acting(workingwithoutauxiliarypower)HON330gaspressureregulatorhasthetaskofkeepingthe outlet pressureofagaseousmediuminaconnectedoutletsidepipeline(regulatedsegment)largelyconstant,independentofinterferinginfluencessuchaschangesininletpressureand/orgastakeoffTheregulatorconsistsofanactuatorhousingandthefunctionalunits"GPRwithregulationsystem"andSSVcontroller/switchingunit.Afterthescrewfastenersareloosened,thecompletefunctionalunitcaneasilyberemovedfromthe"GPRactuatorhousing"andsubjectedtoavisualinspectionduringmaintenancerounds.Incaseofadefect,itispossibletoreplacethefunctionalunitsquicklywithtestedreplacementunitsandmovetherequiredmaintenanceworkfromthegaspressureregulatorintotheworkshop.Theactuatoroftheregulatorsystemcanhavedifferentvalveseatdiameters.Thevalveseatvariantsarepressure-equalized.RegulatorsystemcanoptionallybeequippedwithaleakagegasSBVorasafetydiaphragm.TheoutletpressuretoberegulatedisguidedtotheGPRregulatorsystemandtheSSVcontrollerviameasurementlines.

Thecompensationdiaphragmoftheregulatorrecordstheactualvalueoftheoutletpressureandcomparesitwiththesetvaluespecifiedbythesetpointspring.Aregulationdeviationhasadirectinfluencethroughthevalverodtotheactuatorposition.Theresultingchangeinflowcausesanequalizationoftheactualoutletpressurevaluewiththe setpoint.Atzeroconsumption,thedevicesealstightandtheclosingpressureisset.Theactuatorofthesafetyblockingvalveontheinletsideblocksthegasflowwhentheoutletpressureintheregulatedsegmentexceedsorfallsbelowacertaintriggerpressure.Inthisprocess,theSSVmeasurementdiaphragmwiththe switchsleevemovesintotheappropriateratchetposition,theballratchetmechanismreleasestheSSVvalverod,andtheSSVactuatorcloses.TheSSVcanonlyberatchetedintotheopenpositionbyhandwhentheoutletpressureatthemeasurementpointdiffersfromthetriggerpressuresetpointbythespecifiedre-engagementdifferencesfor excesspressureandpressuredeficit.TheSSVcanoptionallyalsobeequippedwithamanualandaremotetrigger.ItcanoptionallyalsobedesignedinfunctionclassA(withdiaphragmbreaksafety)orB(withoutdiaphragmbreaksafety).
