Interactingwith students, teachers and parents at 'Pariksha PeCharcha-2020' at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhitoday, Shri Modi said, this new generation will bearthe responsibility of taking India to new heights andnew hopes. He said, individual careers are veryimportant but everyone has to take someresponsibility to contribute to the nation. Prime Minister emphasized that good marks inexaminations are not everything and students shouldcome out of this mindset. He said, education is just away to learn new things and there is a need to learnmore. While responding to a question during theprogramme, Shri Modi said, one can find a way ofsuccess even in their failure. He said, external factorsare more responsible for a bad mood during exams. Talking about the importance of extra curricularactivities, the Prime Minister said, not pursuing co-curricular activities can make a person like a robot.He added that extra-curricular activities need not beglamour-driven and every children should be allowedto pursue what he or she likes. Shri Modi said,motivation and demotivation are very common andeveryone has these feelings. He said, a temporarysetback does not mean success is not waiting, in fact,a setback may mean the best is yet to come.

In his brief address, the Director of Transport stressed upon the need to preserve theenvironment of the pristine Islands of this UT and one of the measures is to reduceatmospheric pollution. At the same time he urged all concerned to take concrete actionto reduce dependency on fossil fuel. The Transport Department acknowledging that the biggest contributor in expenditureon account of operation of buses is fuel, had worked on a mission mode to reduce theexpenditure by improving the efficiency. In the first phase, existing data was analyzedand a plan was prepared to achieve a target which was fixed after a series of road testswith real load conditions to increase the KMPL (Kilometer per Litre) in buses. Various simultaneous actions like improved preventive maintenance, threadbareanalysis of the performance data, constant monitoring, proper driving etc wasundertaken. This concerted action by the Department resulted in not only tremendousimprovement on the KMPL sector but also improved the quality and reliability of publictransport provided by the Department, a communication from the Deputy Director(Admn.) said here today.
