boardofGoodShepherdHousingandFamilyServicesinAlexandria,Virginia.Additionally,CathyisoneofthesixteenprivatecitizensappointedtotheU.S.SemiquincentennialCommissiontoplantheUnitedStates’250thbirthday.

ShehasvolunteeredandraisedfundsfortheBarbaraBushLiteracyFoundation,IndependentWomen’sForum,FoundationtoEradicateDuchenneMuscularDystrophy,HistiocytosisAssociationofAmerica,andtheSusanB.AnthonyList.ShehasservedasaCommissioneronthePresident’sCommissiononWhiteHouseFellows,andasaboardmemberofBishopIretonHighSchool.

After25yearsonCapitolHillandinpolitics,Cathyhascometobelievethatinadditiontoparticipatinginthepoliticalprocess,weallmustworktoeducateourchildrenandre-educateourselvesabouttheprinciplesembodiedintheUnitedStatesConstitution,anduponwhichourcountrywasfounded.Cathybelievesweallmustengagein"culturemaking"inordertopreserveandprotectthesevalues.
