Academic Advisors
• Each will be assigned an academic advisor
• You must see your advisor at least once every semester otherwise you will not get your examination slip
Your Performance• You must obtain a minimum GPA and CGPA of 2.0 every semester• Those with GPA 3.7 and above is recorded as “Pass with distinction”• Those with GPA 2.0 and below is recorded as being under “Observation”
To be on the Dean’s List you need
• Take a minimum of 15 credit each semester; GPA 3.7• Must not obtained lower than a grade C for any course• Have not repeated any course• Can be considered for UM’s Bright Spark Programme – Ph.D sponsored by the programme
IF you are under Observation …• You cannot take more than 12 credit worth
of courses in the following semester• If your GPA is less than 1.3 or less for 2 semesters – you can be terminated• If you GPA is less than 2.0 in 4 consecutive semester – you can be terminated• If you fail core courses 3 times – you may be terminated• Less than GPA 1.0 – you may be terminated
IF you are under “Ob” you must not be
• Despair• Take more subjects in the following semester – you can be terminated• Prioritize your options – take subjects you think you can do well to get you out of “Ob”• See and discuss with your academic advisor
