3. An apprenticeship is a job that allows you to learn and gain
work experience by working alongside experienced staff.

available depending on your current skills and qualifications:

Maths, English or ICT a technical certificate, such as a BTEC or
City & Guilds Progression Award.
16. Knowledge-based qualifications, such as a Higher National
Certificate (HNC), a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Foundation
degree.
17. Do I have to pay anything? The National Apprenticeship
service pays all the costs of training apprentices between the ages
of 16 and 18.
18. The National Apprenticeship service pays half the cost of
training apprentices who are 19 to 24 years old, with the employer
paying the remaining costs.
19. How much will I earn? As an apprentice, you would be paid
for the hours you work, which would be a minimum of 30 hours per
week and training, which is usually 1 day per week.
20. Those aged 16 18 years of age are paid the minimum wage
rate for an apprentice, which is currently 2.68 per hour but many
employers pay more. The average weekly wage, according to the
National Apprenticeship Service, is around 170 a week (4.50 per
hour).
21. If you are 19 years old or over, you would be paid the
minimum wage for an apprentice for the first year. From the second
year you would be paid the minimum wage rate for your age.
22. After you complete your apprenticeship you can go on to
