The new born bike-maker has now ventured into the motorcycle space armoured with the Stallio, a feature- packed 110cc motorcycle with styling, comfort and value-for-money as its USP and has also showcased its premium offering, the Mojo, a 300cc performance motorcycle. M&M is very serious about this new venture and the decision to foray into the two segments is consciously done supported by a massive market survey based on inputs from over 7,500 people that included current motorcycle owners as well as prospective buyers. As the Indian working class grows tenfold, it clearly reflects on a higher number of consumers with disposable incomes looking for an affordable, trustworthy and reliable means of personal transport. This segment has seen a steady growth over the past two decades and explains why established brands like the Hero Honda Splendor have reigned supreme all these years with their reliability, economy and comfort, even at their premium price-point. Although, now the rules of the game are changing as Indian masses are getting exposed to the outside world with staggering pace resulting in more aspiration-driven purchases in their day-to-day lives. This is also applicable to the motorcycles of today as can be seen from the slow yet steady growth in the premium motorcycle segment in India. The | P H O T O G R A P H Y K U N A L K H A D S E |
