ZEALANDIA is a stunning location for cocktail functions, dinners, weddings, corporate functions and team building events, to name a few.

In addition ZEALANDIA has a range of fantastic activity options available, from canapés on the heritage lawn to a private viewing of our

state-of-the-art multimedia exhibition or guided night tours in search of little spotted kiwi.

Our exhibition allows you to step back in time 1,000 years to the day before humans arrived, to witness the consequences of human

settlement and learn about New Zealand’s conservation pioneers.

Our valley is a natural safe haven for over 30 species of native birds and reptiles, including tuatara, little spotted kiwi, saddleback, hihi

and giant weta. This 225 hectares of regenerating lowland forest and wetlands is protected by a unique 8.6 kilometre predator-proof

fence.

ZEALANDIA has a 500 year vision to restore the valley as closely as possible to its pre-human state.

On site there is ample free parking for cars and buses.

And, because ZEALANDIA IS 100% not for profit, your function will make a valuable contribution to our conservation, eco-restoration

and education goals.



Our Venues

Hihi Room

The Hihi Room is a small meeting room located on the ground floor of our Visitor Centre.

It is ideal for small groups wanting to get away from their own office environment.

Capacity: 8 people boardroom style

Cost: $260.00 per day or

Day Delegate Package $75/person (minimum of 6 people)

Half day: (up to 4 hours) $150.00

Available: 8.30am–5.00pm

Catering: Tea & Coffee package $25/person

includes tea and coffee on arrival, morning tea with sweet or savoury items, afternoon tea with sweet treat.

Lunch available in Rata Café and can be invoiced.

Morning Tea only: $10/person, includes sweet or savoury item

Day Delegate

Package: $75/person. Includes venue hire, tea and coffee on arrival, morning and afternoon tea and lunch in Rata Café. (conditions apply)

Standard whiteboard, electronic whiteboard, and flipchart stand included in venue hire.

Flipchart paper available at $20 per day. Internet access $50 per day.

Additional AV can be hired in.

Entry to the sanctuary valley and the ZEALANDIA exhibition are optional extras at a discounted price of $12.50/person.



Rotary Education House

A small and rustic house tucked away on a hill top. This is a perfect getaway for small groups wanting privacy to have a

team building session, meeting or small conference. There is no disabled access. ZEALANDIA Rotary Education House is

completely self contained with a lounge area, meeting space, toilet facilities and kitchen. Morning and afternoon tea

can be provided by Rata Café. Lunch in Rata Café is always a great option too and can be either added to your invoice

or paid on the day.

Capacity: Up to 12 U-shape or 24 theatre style

Cost: $360 per day or

Day Delegate Package $75/person (minimum of 8 people)

Half day: (up to 4 hours) $200.00

Available: 8.30am–5.00pm

Rata Café

Light, airy and modern, with scenic views across the forest-fringed lake and Heritage Lawn, Rata Café can seat up to 100 people.

The café balcony is especially popular and can seat up to 76 people.

Balcony Cost: $600 exclusive use of balcony.

Balcony Available: 10am-5.00pm. Exclusive use not available weekends or Public Holidays.

Capacity: 76 seated

Rata After Hour Cost: $1,150.00

Rata Café Available: 5.00pm-midnight

Capacity: 100 seated for dinner

Catering: Family style or Traditional Buffet, or Plated lunch. (Price on request)

After Hours Function Packages in Rata Café

Our package options include all venue hire, Duty Manager, staffing and security. We can accommodate up to 100 for a formal sit down meal. Minimum number of 40 people required or by negotiation.

We proudly use free range eggs, chicken, and bacon, and all fish are sustainable. All wines are from sustainable vineyards.

Function Beverage Options

Option 1: Consumption

We have an extensive beverage menu at very reasonable prices. All drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic,

will be charged on consumption only.

Option 2: Drinks Package

$35 per head. Available 5pm – 11.45pm

Canapés: bubbles and sparkling grape juice served with canapés

During and after dinner: selection of house wines, local beers and orange juice

Option 3: BYO

For a corkage fee of $14 per person we will chill and serve all your beverages throughout your function.

Option 4: Bar Tab

Extensive beverage menu served until your predetermined limit has been reached.

Cash bar can be available

thereafter.

Additional Activities These can be included as part of an evening event, or we can create an afternoon activity for you,

including a tour and afternoon tea.

• Electric Boat on lower lake: 8-15 people per trip $195/hour including skipper

• Exhibition as part of an evening function – $12.50 per person.

• Walks in the valley and exhibition entrance as an afternoon activity - $12.50 per person.

• Night Tours –2.5 hours $75.00 per adult, $36 per child (minimum age 12 years).
