The following is a status report regarding the required 2006 - 2007 Title IX Annual Repodsubmission of forms due into the KHSAA office by April 15, 2007. Appropriate KHSAA Audit Teampersonnel have reviewed these forms and the following is a summary of this review.

It appears that our boys versus qirls spending is out of line at first glance. However, withfootball itl the equation as a malor contributor the numbers are really skewed. The totalfootball expenditmes for the 2005-06 year wms $93,865.00. lf you subtract that numberfrom the total spending of boys versus gkls you will fmd that the percentages of spendingreally change. The percentage goes 9om 59% for boys and 41% for gids to 43% forboys and 57% for girls. With the high cost of equipment for football, there apyears to beno way to successfully adjust expenditmes of boys versus gkls and still maintam a safeplaying environment. W e will continue to monitor football spending so ms not to allow itto get totally out of hand. However, we will not sacrifice the safety of any of our studentathletes for the sake of money.
