1. Take an actual count of your product effective December 31st. Use a consultant order sheet for convenience and a separate piece of paper for any products that may no longer be listed on the current form. What you actually need is a total wholesale value so just add up the retail and divide by 2 (if you order at the 50% level). Helpful Hint: it is not necessary to divide each item out by colour or formula. You may just count the total number of cleansers or eye shadows, etc. to help you get the total value of Section 1 only. Also you can put the amounts in MKOC as if you were placing an order – get your figures then delete the order.

2. Record your year end mileage and remove your mileage log from your car. Make sure it has been filled out and replaced with a new one.

3. Add up your miscellaneous expenses. It's easiest to just add up each category such as postage, office supplies, long distance phone calls, workshops and business expenses. Your accountant will know where to plug the numbers in.

4. Your wholesale records are all done for you on the computer printout that comes with each order. All you need to add up is the Section 1 for the total cost of goods (not including sales tax). Then also total the Section 2 (without tax) and that will be part of your supplies expense.

5. Your retail sales should be completely done for you already if you kept up your Weekly Accomplishment Sheets. If not, just add up the subtotal (that is sales less the tax) and that is your sales income. Your recruiting income in totalled by your monthly commission statement. (For significant amounts Mary Kay sends out a statement at the end of January for the total year.)
