Dear Friends,

Well, this summer has wound down. What a summer it was! God has done amazing things in our hearts as well as the camp kids hearts. Many hearts and lives were touched by God this summer. What a joy to be a small part of this ministry. Over the years Rock Haven has seen many young people come through camp. It’s great to see and hear how these young people grow up and get married and return to Rock Haven as staff

or just a visit one afternoon. It was good to meet and welcome little Madeline Gale only four months old to Rock Haven. At least we know there will be great campers for the future.

One of greatest things Donna and I do at camp (well the great-est thing is Donna keeps everyone fed) but after that is working with the SWAT kids. These are young peo-ple from ages of 13 to 18 years old.

They are campers who love camp and love to come back and help us for the summer. Our vision and goal is to see them grow up into the role of cabin leaders. There were 9 former SWAT working as adult cabin leaders this summer. Another blessing in working with them is

that 5 of them are planning to go to Bi-ble collage. The young man pictured with me on the left is heading to Ethnos 360 (we know it as New Tribes Institute), next week. PLEASE remem-ber to pray for Lamar as he heads north to study God’s Word. He has raised most of his funds for this semester, pray that funds continue to come in for his schooling. Like the verse says, “Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! WHAT JOY!!” Ps. 126:3

God has allowed Donna and I 34 years of faith supported ministry here at Rock Haven Bible Camp. We could not have done it and could not continue if it wasn’t for faithful prayer and financial supporters like you. Thank you for allowing us to be able to do this ministry we so love.

These are exciting times for Rock Haven Ministries and exciting times for us as well!!!

July - August 2019

Psalm 126:1 says “When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream”.

In many ways that is what our 4 and half year journey to find our own place to live feels like and now that we have found it, it is like the psalmist says “it was like a dream”. As many of you know, we have been looking for a place to buy to free up the house at camp for younger staff members. With Donna cooking and both of us being so involved at camp, living far away from Rock Haven Bible Camp seemed impossible.

Then a few years ago our neighbor asked me if I was interested in buying his property adjoining the camp. This property was about 20 acres and had a house. This seemed like an answer to prayer. He said he would like to sell it as soon as he found another place. Four years later, we were still waiting.

During this time of waiting, God began to work in my heart to work with kids and horses. So I began to travel around in the month of June, during the time Rock Haven Bible Camp has its rental camps, to work with other camps that do this ministry. I have seen youth struggling with things who have been helped by working with horses. The dream of having horses at Rock Haven began to grow, but seemed impossible and impractical.

Then this spring, God and I had a conversation in my prayer time about this dream and the timing. A few days later our neighbor met me driving out of the road and said he was willing to sell the back part of his property. This would allow him to live in the front part where the house is until he finds the perfect place for him. This also will allow me to begin to set up an area to work with kids and horses. Maybe we could even provide horse rides for Rock Haven camps during the summer, with the possibility of providing other activities for small groups and camps. WOW! How God works!!! We will be closing on the first half of the property August 16th.

Some people have said, Tim you’re old and this is hard work. I know, it most certainly is. I am going to need your prayers as we begin this new and exciting ministry. Please pray for the following needs:

1. Pray for funds needed to start this ministry. (both monthly and start up costs)

2. Prayer warriors to pray for us as we begin this ministry. Especially pray for the Lords wisdom, we want to do what he wants.

3. People /partners that are willing to help in this ministry.

Thank you all for your support and prayers over our past 34 years of ministry. We would appreciate your continued prayers and support as we continue to work at Rock Haven and develop this new ministry as well. If you would like to give toward this new ministry or would like more information about our vision, we would be glad to talk to you about this. We are going in God’s time… so as He supplies, it will get started.
