Program Outline

Monday

Students meet at 8:30am at South Road Gates. Make sure you bring lunch and snacks for Monday.

Upon arrival at Camp Ibis, students will set up camp before beginning the orienteering challenge course,

which will lead into raft building and racing. After dinner sit around the fire and make dessert.

Tuesday

Sailing the Gippsland Lakes and exploring the Banksia Peninsula by Mountain bike.

Wednesday

In the morning you will learn what the indigenous people of the area ate and how they hunted for food.

Followed by learning how to use a Trangia (camp stove) and make a hot drink. After lunch we make our

way to Buchan Caves, there we will journey through the spectacular Royal Cave, set up camp and go

on a night walk.

Thursday

Challenge yourself in Wilsons Adventure Cave. Be prepared to get a little dirty. Late afternoon we will

drive back to Camp Ibis. There we will meet our friends from Wildlife Unlimited who will show and talk to

us about the animals living in the nest boxes around Camp Ibis.

Friday

Pack up, play one last game and reflect on our wonderful week of camp. Have lunch on route and return

to school by 3:30pm.
