The interior designers of the new BMW X1 were guided solely by the requirements of the passengers. And it shows: particularly in the multitude of high-quality details. The interior of the new BMW X1 is sophisticated, down to the very last detail. The Fineline Bay matt trim and air vents reinforce its stylish character, as do the luxurious inlay around the gear lever and cup holder, and the Panorama glass roof. Pure power, maximum performance and low fuel consumption are the defining features of the BMW TwinPower Turbo engines. The diesel engine in the new BMW X1 features BMW TwinPower Turbo technology for increased efficiency, combining the latest injection technologies with innovative turbocharger technology for greater dynamics. The lightweight aluminium construction further boosts driving dynamics, saves fuel and is equipped with a zero-maintenance particle filter as standard.

Plenty of power in every driving situation: this smooth-running BMW 2.0 litre four-cylinder diesel engine generates an impressive 135kW (184hp)1. The Common rail direct injection and exhaust turbocharger enable acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. From 1,750 rpm and up, the engine provides a maximum torque of 380Nm1, while providing a fuel efficiency of 17.05 km/l2 with reduced CO2 emissions output of 156.07 g/km

BMW EFFICIENT DYNAMICS - MAKING A LITTLE GO A LONG WAY.

BMW EfficientDynamics represents an acclaimed comprehensive technology package designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, while simultaneously enhancing dynamic performance. A winner of many technology awards, it has enabled the BMW Group to reduce the CO2 emissions of its new-vehicle fleet substantially.

The BMW EfficientDynamics technology package in the new BMW X1 not only takes its dynamic performance further, but also provides a fuel efficiency of 17.05 km/l1 that adds more kilometers per drop of diesel while keeping the carbon footprint of the vehicle minimised to 156.07 g/km1.1Performance data as measured in the emission test done under controlled conditions of environment, driving cycle, fuel, etc. as specified in Rule 115 of Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.

Auto Start/Stop Function. The Auto Start/Stop Function switches off the engine when the vehicle comes to a temporary standstill (e.g. at traffic lights) to further reduce overall fuel consumption.

ECO PRO Mode. This mode enables fuel consumption to be reduced by up to 15% depending on your individual driving style. It intelligently adapts the accelerator sensitivity, the transmission and the heating/air conditioning systems. ECO PRO tips and the display of kilometers saved encourage a particularly efficient driving style.

Brake Energy Regeneration. This means that the generator (alternator) usually only generates electricity when the driver brakes or takes their foot off the accelerator. Previously unused kinetic energy is transformed into electrical energy and fed into the battery.

BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology. In the diesel engine models, CommonRail direct injection is combined with a turbocharger featuring variable turbine geometry, reducing the fuel consumption of the BMW TwinPower Turbo engines - while noticeably increasing performance across all speeds.

Electric Power Steering. Unlike conventional hydraulic steering systems, the Electric Power Steering only uses energy during actual steering. The electric motor is inactive when driving straight ahead.

Eight-speed Automatic Transmission.The particularly smooth gear shifts of the Eight-speed Automatic Transmission produce greater engine efficiency at every speed. The result: a reduction in fuel consumption and more comfortable gear changes. Together with Auto Start/Stop, it ensures improved dynamics and driving comfort, coupled with reduced fuel consumption and fewer emissions.

Navigation System Professional. Navigation System Professional with high-resolution 22.352 cm colour monitor allows for a more comprehensive overview of the locations to provide orientation points on your journey. You can inform the system of your destination via Voice Control.

BMW Apps. With the free BMW Connected App from the Apple App Store, you will always be up-to-date. Using the iDrive system, you can select internet radio stations from around the world. You can also view the latest status updates from your Facebook or Twitter accounts, view upcoming appointments on the Control Display or have them read out via the car speakers using the read-aloud function, and more.

Park Distance Control.The Park Distance Control (PDC) allows for easy parking and maneuvering in confined spaces. Acoustic signals and a visual indicator in the Control Display tell you when the rear of the vehicle is approaching an object. Distances are measured by ultrasound sensors in the bumper.

The BMW iPod/USB interface. The BMW iPod and USB interface allow you to have a couple of thousand songs at your fingertips. Simply connect your iPod, iPhone, MP3 player or USB stick to the on-board system and choose your favourite songs from your entire collection. Once your device is plugged in, you can have endless musical enjoyment without being distracted from driving.

Cornering Brake Control (CBC). CBC increases vehicle stability when braking gently in a fast bend. As illustrated in the image above, during braking maneuvers, the load on the rear wheels is reduced, which can lead to oversteering (1). In braking maneuvers that are outside the ABS control range, CBC addresses this tendency by building up unilateral brake pressure (2) in order to create a stabilising counterforce (3).

Airbags. Airbags are just one of the passive safety elements in your BMW that make up a perfectly coordinated system. Six airbags are installed for precise protection: driver and front passenger airbags, head airbags in the front and rear, as well as side airbags integrated in the front seat backrests.

Runflat tyres and Runflat Indicator. The reinforced side walls prevent the tyres from completely collapsing or loosening from the rim if the air pressure suddenly drops due to tyre damage. This enables you to keep control of your vehicle and continue driving for longer, till you can safely make it to your destination. The Runflat indicator alerts you by displaying a red warning light and emitting a sound so that you can continue your journey, cautiously.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). DSC including CBC and Brake Assist, recognises the risk of skidding before it occurs and stabilises the car within milliseconds. The traction mode sub-function (DTC) allows increased wheel slip to optimise acceleration in certain driving conditions and to enable more dynamic driving.
