job cut fears not founded: defence

LAVERTON

e Defence Department has moved to ease fears of job cuts at the Royal Australian Air Force Williams base in Laverton.

A spokesman said the review of services at the base was con ned to one unit, the Logistics Information Systems Branch (LOGIS), which had 170 sta 75 per cent civilian and the rest military .

An anonymous source claimed hundreds of jobs were on the line under a review of the LOGIS branch by the Canberra-based departments Chief Information O cer Group (CIOG), the national information technology infrastructure provider that took over LOGIS this year. A department spokesman said a review of the branch and its functions was still under way.

No decision has been made on the future delivery of these functions.

e CIOG leadership has advised sta that there is no intention to relocate positions from LOGIS at RAAF Williams, he said.

ere may be a reduction in the number of positions within LOGIS as a result of natural attrition.

e spokesman said there were 1200 full-time positions at the Laverton base, of which about one-third were military sta , but the review a ected only one unit. RAAF Williams is home to many other units not a ected by this reform program, he said. \

review puts sports project in doubtWERRIBEE

A review of federal grants issued by the former Labor government could leave Werribee Football Club thousands of dollars out of pocket and deny young migrants access to sports programs.

In June, the former government promised Werribee Football Club a $50,000 grant to fund the Wyndham Sporting Opportunities Project.

e project is aimed at helping young migrants participate in sports, providing them with opportunities to learn new skills, make friends and connect with the community. e grant was to be part of the former governments diversity and social cohesion program.

e Tigers, in partnership with AFL Victoria, the Centre for Multicultural

Youth and Wyndham council, have already employed Sudanese community leader Majak Bol to run the project.

Tigers chief executive Mark Penaluna said the project could not continue without the funding, leaving the club to foot the bill. He said the club was disappointed the new governments review was jeopardising the project.

We believe we have a contract with the federal government to deliver the project. e federal government signed a funding agreement, he said. Its not just about the club, this is a community project.

e project will help others to understand the importance of being involved in sport, whether in individual games like tennis or team sports like netball. It will identify the challenges facing people from diverse cultures

such as access and a ordability. Lalor Labor MP Joanne Ryan has raised the issue in Federal Parliament, urging Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews to honour the grant.

In a growing and diversifying community like ours we need to be vigilant to

prevent intolerance, exclusion and a lack of opportunity, she said.

[ e Tigers] insist that they have a role in addressing these issues .

If they are willing to do their bit, why then is the government refusing

to do its bit?A department spokesman said the

government was assessing all grants to ensure they were consistent with its priorities and commitments.

He said grant recipients would be noti ed once the review was complete. \

Christmas at the Lakes chairman Bruce Cahoon said the event had become important to the community, with pro ts donated to local groups.

Since the beginning, surplus funds raised at the event have been pledged to worthy causes such as Whitelion , which supports displaced young people in the community, the Point Cook CFA, Point Cook Lions and Rotary clubs, he said.

Anton De Pasquale can break out the champagne even before he competes in the nal round of a national motor racing competition this weekend.

e Werribee South 18-year-old has already been declared winner of the 2013 Australian Formula Ford Championship on points.

De Pasquale is the 21st and last driver to win the event, which will be replaced by a Formula 4 open wheel racing series .

He joins an illustrious list of champions including V8 Supercar driver Craig Lowndes, who won the rst title in 1993.

e Westbourne Grammar student nished his VCE a week before he competed in the competitions sixth round at Phillip Island on November 23-24.

De Pasquale hopes to win the seventh and nal round of the championship in Sydney this weekend , despite enjoying an unassailable lead. e pressure is o , I can have some fun, he sa id.

It will obviously look amazing on my resume to be known as the last champion and its a great feeling.

Anyone who has won this championship has gone on to bigger things. [Formula 1 driver] Mark Webber competed but didnt

win and look at him now. De Pasquale hopes to race in Europe, the United States or in Australias V8 Supercars next year, but has applied to study a commerce degree as a back-up plan. \

MY TOWN

I recently had the pleasure of meeting a person from Mambourin Enterprises who has an intellectual disability.We had a conversation about things

that make us happy.What struck me was that if I asked a

friend or colleague the same question, theyd probably hum and haw about it for a while before answering.

Yet Elviras answers were sure and swi . An older woman with short, greying hair and a love of sparkly scarves, she nds delight in the minutiae of daily life. She tells me she likes to go shopping, not to buy much but just to have a look at the people and window displays.

Sometimes school kids tease her because of her obvious disability, but even then she says someone usually comes to her defence, making her glad to be part of such a great community.

At other times she feels sad when she thinks about her late mother, but being able to speak to one of the carers at Mambourin always li s her spirits.

She likes to help the other people who attend her day centre and give them some advice when theyre feeling a bit down , like a mother hen would.

She giggles as she tells me about the activities she does each week music lessons, cooking a ai curry and going swimming.

But most of all, shes happiest when shes watching football, especially her beloved North Melbourne, although she doesnt like the big beards that are fashionable among the players at the moment.

Our conversation reminded me to be grateful for the small things in life. Its a chat I hope to continue soon.

Yesterday was International Day of People with a Disabi lity, the time to celebrate those who make our communities diverse and unique.

Wyndham residents and the Western Region Environment Centre have applied to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to force the council to lower the Wests Road tip to ground level.

e application was made last week a er mediation between the council and residents failed . As reported by the Weekly, the council is seeking Environment Protection Authority approval to expand cell 4C at the tip to 24 metres above ground.

e EPA has granted approval for cells 4A and 4B to be built to the same height.

e decision has been heavily criticised in the community, with the council admitting it failed to properly consult residents and that it

incorrectly granted itself permission to build the tip to 65 metres and 120 metres above the ground in 2010 and 2012.

If approved by VCAT, the amendment will change the tips planning permit and require cells 4-8 to be kept at ground level.

Browns Road landowner Julian Menegazzo is among the residents who made the VCAT application.

He said residents felt they had no option but to try and amend the tips permit.

We will not put up with this smelly eyesore and the stigma it will impose on our community for the next 40 years. We will ght the council and any other bodies that try to continue building waste mountains.

Western Region Environment Centre director Harry van Moorst said the centre had also started a petition, calling for the state government to impose stricter height

Turf idol Black Caviars little brother, known as Jimmy, is recovering at Werribees specialist vet clinic a er a suspected white-tailed spider bite.

Jimmy, the highest-priced yearling sold in Australasia when he fetched $5 million at Easter, has been at the equine centre at Melbourne Universitys veterinary hospital for the past month.

It is suspected the bite caused an infection that developed into the potentially lethal hoof disease laminitis .

Early last month, it was reported that it was touch and go for the colt.

But Simon Marshall, a spokesman for the horses owners, BC3 oroughbreds, tweeted last week that Black Caviars brother appeared to be much better.

He said he gave the colt a pat and a cuddle at the veterinary hospital.

e clinic was unable to comment because of privacy issues. e unraced two-year-old colt is regarded as one of Australias most valuable horses. \

Police are urging drivers to be patient a er a big increase in road-rage incidents in Wyndham.

Inspector Damien Christensen attributed part of the rise in assaults in the past year to motorists losing their cool.

We are getting a lot of road-rage reports because there is more congestion on the roads, he said. e lower speeds have brought down trauma and serious injury, but low-level accidents are up.

Police have started Christmas road policing operations and are urging drivers to plan for delays and changes in driving conditions.

Inspector Christensen said drivers needed to show patience .

e message to drivers is there will be di erent drivers on the road at Christmas, he said. ere will need to be behavioural changes.

Injuries on Wyndhams roads fell last nancial year to 398 from 408 the previous year. Nine drivers were killed on the citys roads up to June 30.

We will be running booze bus operations over Christmas, so leave your car at home if you are planning to drink, Inspector Christensen said. \ LL

Reported assaults in Wyndham increased by more than 50 per cent in the past year follow-ing more attacks on police, protective services o cers and shopping centre security guards.

Latest crime statistics released last week show 787 reports of assaults (excluding family violence) were made in Wyndham between October 2012, and September this year up almost 58 per cent from the previous year.

Inspector Damien Christensen said the rise could be partly attributed to attacks at Port Phillip Prison, which is in the Wyndham

police service area, and assaults on police. Assaults have gone up but we have found that they relate to the prison, attacks on police and [protective services o cers], increases in road rage and attacks on loss-prevention o cers in stores, he said.

Inspector Christensen said police and PSOs would assess how they worked with drink and drug-a ected people and would run safety operations in shopping centres .

Robberies increased in the past year, up 15.1 per cent to 84 o ences.

Inspector Christensen said while many of the robberies were low-levelcrimes, such

as a young person stealing a mobile phone , there had been several armed

robberies in the past year. ere was an attempted armed

robbery at a fast food store in Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing, on November 26. Two men, including one carrying a

shotgun, approached the stores delivery driver about 4.30 am. It was the second attempted armed robbery

at the store this year.

In August, two masked men approached a delivery driver and stole a quantity of cash before eeing the store.

e statistics revealed a drop in residential burglaries and the from and of motor vehicles.

Total crime fell 5.5 per cent, with 12,080 reports made to police, down from 12,788 between October 2011, and September 2012.

Our members have worked very hard at identifying o enders and taking them to court, Inspector Christensen said. We are trying to be proactive. \

billions needed for growth areas

Wyndham council has used its response to the state governments Plan Melbourne report to reiterate the need for improved infrastructure funding in outer suburbs.

As reported by the Weekly, Victorian Auditor-General John Doyle criticised successive state governments for failing to adequately deliver infrastructure in growth areas. He found that $10 billion was needed immediately to address the backlog and urged the government to come up with funding solutions.

In its submission to the governments 40-year growth strategy released in October, the council said the government must ensure that a funding plan was included in the new metropolitan planning strategy to address the backlog.

To do this e ectively, [the government] must, in addition to opening up new funding sources, align the infrastructure funding plan to the state budget, the submission stated.

e council said Werribee needed to be identi ed as a future activity centre if it was going to become the capital of Melbournes new west. Submissions to Plan Melbourne close December 6. \ LL

Bet limit an answer to pokies problemsWYNDHAM

A Melbourne academic is calling for $1 betting limits to be introduced in outer suburban areas where gambling losses are among the states highest.

Monash Universitys Dr Charles Livingstone has compiled a report detailing gaming machine losses by electorate in Victoria between July 2012 and June this year .

His research found that gamblers in outer suburban electorates such as Cranbourne and Tarneit were among the states biggest pokies losers. e electorate of Melbourne lost the most money last nancial year, with $80.28 million spent on 847 machines.

Tarneit had the states h-highest total ($59.31 million), while $28.51 million was lost at Wyndham venues in the Altona electorate.

Dr Livingstone said it was clear that losses were closely tied with disadvantage, and that a link existed between high numbers of machines and higher rates of loss.

Tarneit has 548 machines while Altona has 561 machines, 345 of which are in Wyndham. e state average is 318 machines per electorate.

Dr Livingstone said the best way to reduce losses was to make pokies harmless fun.

He said there was a need to reduce the size

of gaming venues and restrict the amount of money people could gamble with, as machines in suburban pokies venues easily allowed losses of $600 an hour.

ere should be maximum bets of $1, limiting losses to $120 per hour. We need to look at solutions and there are suggestions $1 bets are the way to go, he said.

As reported by the Weekly, Wyndham council has sought to reduce the impact of pokies by restricting where gaming venues

can be built. e council has asked Planning Minister Matthew Guy to appoint an independent panel to consider allowing it to ban gaming venues from activity centres and shopping strips.

Developers and operators have opposed the plan.

Dr Livingstone said such plans had proven useful in reducing losses as they made it more di cult for people to access pokies venues. \

hospital program needs reviewINQUEST

A coroner has recommended that e Alfred hospital review its Hospital in the Home program following the death of a Werribee teenager .

e Coroners Court heard that on the morning Andrew Happy Gilmore died on May 22, 2009, administrators told the 17-year-olds parents to give him painkillers and wait an hour to see if he felt better.

An ambulance was not called until hospital sta received a third phone call saying Andrew was struggling to breathe. He had not been returned to hospital the previous day, despite being in agonising pain.

In August, a two-day coronial inquest scrutinised the post-surgical program, under which about 60 patients receive daily nurse visits at their homes.

Andrew was injured playing for Glen Orden under-18s in the Western Region Football League in May 2009. He was rushed to Werribee Mercy Hospital a er a blow to his sternum in a marking contest and was later transferred to e Alfred to have part of his pancreas removed.

Doctors told his family he would be in

hospital for up to three months, but he was released on May 19 10 days a er surgery.

Delivering her ndings last Wednesday, Coroner Kim Parkinson said there had been a number of aspects about the program that led to a less than desirable response to

Andrews deterioration.She found the program relied too heavily on home carers to diagnose patients and there was a lack of clarity around who Andrews family should contact if his condition deteriorated.

However, she was unable to rule with certainty on whether Andrews

life would have been saved had he been taken to hospital earlier.

What is apparent from the evidence is that both Mr and Mrs Gilmore took every step which was reasonably available to them, she said.

ere was nothing more that either parent could reasonably have done in order to escalate their concern or engage medical assistance, she said.

apartments get second knockback from councilHOPPERS CROSSING

Wyndham council has again rejected an application for a three-storey apartment block in Hoppers Crossing, despite approving two other multi-unit developments in the same street.

Councillors last week voted against an application for a 26-unit apartment block at 617 Tarneit Road .

Its the second time the council has opposed the apartments, having voted against an earlier application for a block of 30 units in July. at application is before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, a er the applicant complained about the length of time the council took to assess the proposal. A hearing is scheduled for January.

e council received 21 objections to the latest proposal.

Councillors last week said the apartment block was an overdevelopment and would a ect tra c in the area. ey also raised concerns about the ability of emergency

services to access the site. I do have concerns about site coverage. I believe it is an overdevelopment of the site, Cr Glenn Goodfellow said. We do need to take a stand on this.

Cr Heather Marcus urged her fellow councillors to also reject an application

for 17 double-storey houses on a vacant block at 591 Tarneit Road.

She said high-density developments o en failed to provide su cient open space for children to enjoy.

But councillors voted to approve the application, which

received three objections. Council o cers advised that the

application had been reduced from 21 houses.

An application for 13 single-storey units at 551 Tarneit Road was approved a er the council received no objections to the development. \

Wheres your favourite retreat spot?Werribee Park. I like to go for a walk there with my wife and admire the gardens. We also like to have lunch while were visiting Shadowfax Winery.

Whats your favourite place to get coffee or a bite to eat?Breakfast at Chatterbox Cafe on Watton Street in Werribee is great. I like the poached eggs on sourdough with avocado. As one of the owners of Park Hotel Eatery and Beer Hall in Werribee, Id have to say its the best place for lunch and dinner. Its unique and has only been around for a bit over a year, so its modern. We have only craft beer and cider available, not mainstream beers. Well also be opening a microbrewery there soon.

What would you change in your neighbourhood?Traffic and parking needs to be reviewed.

What wouldnt you change?Wyndhams proximity to Geelong, the Surf Coast and Melbourne makes it an ideal place to live and work. Its a great place for business owners because its a developing area with progressive growth. It has a lot of potential. The area also has a community feel; its very much a family place and the council is community-focused. And of course we have the Werribee River.

What do you remember being in Wyndham thats no longer there?Ive been living in Wyndham on and off for about 30 years, mainly in Werribee South. I started off in my familys market garden business, growing, distributing and exporting fruit and vegetables here and abroad. The

area has grown a lot over the years. I remember Ollies Trolley in Watton Street, Werribee. It used to be my local meeting place where Id hang out with friends. \

The sailing industrys highest accolade, Mat is only the second Australian to receive the prestigious award.

Mat was named the 2013 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year at a ceremony in Oman, Muscat on November 12, and was presented with his award by His Majesty King Constantine in front of esteemed guests including the Presidents of Honour, HM King Harald of Norway, HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and other renowned members of the International Sailing Federation.

Following a 17-straight regatta winning streak, the Olympic Gold Medalist was chosen from ve nalists by a selection panel of 133 countries.

It is a huge honour to have received this award, says Mat. There is so much talent in Australia it was fantastic to be recognised on the world stage.

Following a short break to attend the awards, Mat has resumed training in Sydney in preparation for the ISAF Sailing World Cup, which will be held in Sandringham Yacht Club, Melbourne, December 1-8.

During his upcoming trip to Melbourne, Mat will also meet with Wyndham Harbours development team from, Lyons Residential, to further plan the layout of what is set to become a world-class marina in Melbournes west. Mat is an ambassador for the development, which will include luxury seaside residential developments around the marina, and brings his extensive experience and knowledge to help elevate Wyndham Harbour to a premium destination for boating enthusiasts.

In a small office crammed with filing cabinets and desks at the back of Werribee police station, officers are on the phones performing welfare checks.

They start by calling women who only three days ago were reported as victims of domestic violence.

Some of the women are reluctant to talk to the police. Some have made up with their attacker and dont want to lay criminal charges. Others are too scared to speak out or believe there is nothing police can do to help them.

But that doesnt stop the officers making the calls. Their job is to do everything they can to reduce family violence.

The officers are part of the Wyndham family violence unit, one of the first of its kind in Victoria and formed to respond to calls about domestic abuse.

Wyndhams soaring family violence rates quickly made getting to every call-out almost impossible.

Now the unit focuses on recidivist offenders and following up with victims to ensure they are receiving the support they need.

Latest police crime statistics reveal that 578 reports of domestic violence were made in Wyndham between October 1, 2012, and September 30, 2013.

Police received 500 reports in the previous year.Wyndham is not the only area with a family violence

problem. Last financial year, police in Hume received 1027 reports of family violence, while Melton reported 497 incidents. Family violence units have been set up in both areas to tackle the problem.

Each year, White Ribbon Day (held last Monday) aims to draw the communitys attention to domestic violence. Men are called on to denounce violence against women and asked to pledge to do whatever they can to phase out family violence.

Wyndham family violence units Senior Constable Dylan Langerak says education and changes in community attitude are the keys to reducing the problem.

A lot of the time, what happened in the home stayed in the home, but people now realise this kind of stuff is unacceptable, he says. People are now starting to call us for advice.

Langerak believes financial stress, drugs and cultural

incidents of family violence three days earlier.On Thursdays, they go to Werribee Magistrates Court

to deal with intervention orders.In between, they perform house visits, check up on

recidivist offenders who have been in contact with police three or more times in the past 12 months, and call victims who made reports.

We work closely with affected family members, Cullen says.

Sometimes you can work with the victims to help them and sometimes there is nothing more you can do. You try and give them support, but at the end you think, how much further can I go?

Sally* is just one of the women Cullen is working with. For the past 12 years, she has been a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her ex-partner and then her teenage son, Ben*.

Cullen, Langerak and Constable Nase Holani are in regular contact with Sally and Ben to ensure they are safe. Sally also receives help from Womens Health West.

I wish I had got help sooner, she says. It started in 2001 when we were living in Altona I thought it would stop. Im not the person I was.

Sally says she never imagined Ben would view violence as the solution to his problems, but a couple of

years ago he began hitting her and smashing up their house. She says being able to talk to Constable Cullen about her problems is helpful. She is reluctant to press charges against her son, fearing he could end up in jail.

Langerak says he understands Sallys hesitation, but the team is focused on reducing repeat offending.

Police statistics reveal that Wyndhams family violence unit is one of the states busiest.

Holani says the number of cases he and his colleagues deal with daily makes the job difficult and mentally taxing, but the closeness of the unit makes a difference.

He has been part of the team for about four months after working a stint on the vans.

Working on the van, family violence calls took up about 50 per cent of the jobs so I was aware of how big a problem it was, he says.

For Holani, dealing with children who are caught up in the violence is the hardest part of the job.

It is mentally taxing knowing whats happening to kids. Thats probably what affects you the most. \

violence is so common, he says. We have people from lower socio-economic backgrounds, refugees and a lot of arranged marriages, which means there is cultural isolation.

Ice and alcohol are also problems. Ice is expensive and addictive.

Constable Kristine Cullen has been with the Wyndham unit since the start of the year. Before joining the team, she had no idea how prevalent family violence was.

I hadnt had a lot of exposure to family violence when I started, but for me its becoming the norm.

Cullen says most incidents occur on Thursday and Sunday nights.

She says people often stereotype victims of family violence, believing they come from lower socio-economic families or have problems with drugs and alcohol, but the stereotype is wrong.

You can go to the trashiest houses and the nicest houses. It doesnt matter. You dont know whats going on behind closed doors.

Each day, Cullen and her colleagues make 10 to 15 calls to victims. That means there were 10 to 15

Researchers will assess the importance of Werribee Souths market gardens as part of a study aiming to save farms in Melbournes fringe suburbs.

Project leader and Deakin University research fellow Dr Rachel Carey says Werribee South is signi cant because of its proximity to Melbourne .

She said what made Melbournes food special was that a lot of produce was grown on the city fringes.

But the farms that surround the city fringe are fast disappearing and taking the local food bowl with them, Dr Carey said. As the city grows, it is gobbling up our best farmland and replacing it with houses.

Dr Carey said the Deakin University-based Food Alliance, funded by VicHealth, was studying produce-growing areas in Werribee, Cranbourne, Bacchus Marsh, Koo Wee Rup, the Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Ranges.

She said the study would con rm what was produced and where, with the information used to educate the

public and decision-makers about the importance of local food bowls . It will include farmers stories and lists of where to buy farm gate produce.

is is an important rst step in securing long-term protection for these areas so that future generations can

continue to enjoy local foods from Melbourne, Dr Carey said.

We all understand the importance of superannuation and saving for the future and these food bowl areas around

Melbourne are our collective superannuation fund, our food for

the future. Dr Carey said Werribee South, like

other city fringe farming areas, was under pressure from housing and other developments.

She said researchers were seeking donations through crowdfunding. If they raise $9000, they will pro le farms in Werribee South and Cranbourne because they are closest to the city and the most under threat. All six areas will be investigated if $15,000 can be raised. \

e duo will display landscapes and contemporary works in various mediums as part of In Fine Art . Knight recently featured on Channel 74 lifestyle TV show Colour In Your Life , which will soon air on Foxtel and internationally.

One of the works she produced for the show will be on display at th e exhibition this weekend.

I wasnt nervous on the show, I really enjoyed myself, Knight said.

Painting is my life, I couldnt imagine life without it.

Some paintings can take 50 hours to complete, some have ne detail like the fronds on a fern.

Uma has been exhibiting for 30 years and I have been doing it for 25 years. We have joined forces for what we hope will be an annual event.

Wyndham Vale residents will have safe access over the railway line at Manor Lakes Boulevard after a new pedestrian bridge was opened last week. Pupils from Manor Lakes College and Our Lady of Southern Cross Primary School (pictured) helped open the bridge, which is part of the Regional Rail Link project. Construction of the bridge required the removal of about 10,000 cubic metres of rock. More than 300 Wyndham landholders have been ned for failing to clean up re hazards on vacant blocks .

Most of the notices issued by Wyndham council a er the latest round of inspections ending November 20 were for properties in Point Cook.

But chief executive Kerry ompson said re risks for properties on the citys rural fringe had been signi cantly reduced by works on the Regional Rail Link .

e re risk to Wyndhams rural outskirts has been signi cantly reduced by the ongoing construction works on the Regional Rail Link, which have created a wide, sweeping re break across the north and west of the city, she said.

Ms ompson said the council had issued 308 infringement notices to landowners . ose issued with notices were ned $200 and are required to clean up their properties within 21 days. Failure to do so will result in the council carrying out the work and billing the owners.

Works to clean up some of the properties that received infringements

in the latest round of inspections are ongoing, but on past trends about half of all residential blocks and one in every 100 rural blocks require council intervention, she said.

Wyndham City conducts regular inspections of vacant land with landowners required to maintain grass and under-

growth to a height of no more than 150 millimetres and keep their land clear of any re hazard, noxious weeds, litter or rubbish.

inspections, which generally take place in March and October.

Ms ompson said the council had a legal obligation to enforce CFA requirements and local laws relating to the removal of re hazards on all properties.

All rural properties in Wyndham City are required to have re breaks. However, some exemptions apply, such as properties with crops and stock. \

olympic bid funds donated A Werribee group set up to help lure the 1996 Olympics to Melbourne has donated $10,000 to the 2016 Australian Olympic team fund and $10,000 to the Australian Paralympic Council . The Werribee Supporters Group, including Greg Aplin and Trevor Jago , has also donated $5000 to the Werribee Principals Network . The money was raised in 1990 when a group of residents built and raf ed an executive home to raise money for Melbournes Olympic bid. The sale raised close to $200,000. When Melbourne lost its bid, the group donated some of the money to local sports clubs and the Victorian Olympic Council. The rest of the money was donated to the Olympic team, Paralympic council and principals network at a morning tea yesterday . \
