2003 MEQ results overview

• 2003 Major Issues for Students- lack of useful and timely feedback from academic staff- need for better explanations of work by teaching staff - need for greater sense of community- lack of understanding by academic staff of study & learning difficulties - lack of consideration of individual learning needs- need for better careers advice- mixed satisfaction with support services (e.g. health, housing, financial aid)

2005 MEQ – any improvements

• Statistically, improvements were demonstrated across all areas of concern

• A recent focus group showed that students still want:- a greater sense of community between faculties and local and international students- better sporting and classroom facilities- raised awareness of services available on campus- more online lectures- greater consistency of assessment within units- more computer labs for undergrads- better communication between Monash and students about campus changes- improved English standards of teaching staff

The Service Centre is a “one stop shop” where students can:- receive general course administration information (admissions, enrolments, fees, examinations, graduations, etc).- access and submit a range of student forms relating to faculty processes.- obtain academic transcripts and student letters, apply to graduate, have MET and STA cards certified, etc.
