• UK online for business, via DTI, helping SMEs through expert and impartial advice

• 91% employees in connected businesses
• 62% businesses with web presence
• 51% businesses buying electronically
Transforming opportunity - What are we doing?
• Working to close ‘digital divide’ for those who most need access to government services
• Setting up UK online centres in local communities offering no/low cost access and training (libraries via DCMS, standalone centres via DfES)
• Working with partners and OGDs to develop and deliver training
Transforming opportunity - What have we achieved?
• 56% of all adults have now experienced the internet
• 46 % of adults accessed the internet in previous month.
• 6000 UKonline centres now open
• All 4,300 public libraries online
Transforming government - What have we achieved?
• Over 60 % services on line
• Some excellent web sites
• UKonline portal, Government Gateway
