ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Lord’s Supper will be observed today in the morning Worship Service.

After the service, the ushers will be at the doors to receive an offering for our benevolence fund.

100% of this offering is used to meet critical needs in our local community and is administered through our church.

FIRST STEPS/NEWCOMERS CLASS | Today If you are new to the church, or want information on joining the church, please join Pastor Steve & Pastor Danny as they

share information about McConnell’s vision, immediately following this morning’s worship service

in The Lodge. A light lunch will be served. This class is a prerequisite for joining the church.

BIGSTUF CHILI FUNDRAISER | 2/23 Our Summit Students are hosting a chili fundraiser next

Sunday, February 23rd, in the Family Life Center. Tickets are $8.00 each and are on sale

today in the Welcome Center. Proceeds will help raise funds for students to attend BigStuf

camp in June. Won’t you enjoy a bowl of chili and help send a student to this life-changing camp?

PUERTO RICO MISSION TRIP MEETING | 2/23 There will be a team meeting on Sunday, Feb. 23rd, for

those who will be going on the mission trip to Puerto Rico. The meeting will be held in the #219-FLC at 4:30 pm.

ANNIE ARMSTRONG WEEK OF PRAYER | 3/1 - 3/8 The Annie Armstrong Week of Prayer is annually observed by SBC churches to pray for missionaries, their ministries

and their families. Prayer is the fuel for spiritually sustaining missionaries in places where the gospel is greatly needed, but often opposed.

Prayer guides will be available on March 1st.

RAY NICHOLSON SCHOLARSHIP | 3/2 - 3/30 Attention High School Seniors: Beginning March 2nd,

applications for the Ray Nicholson Scholarship will be available in the Church Office,

Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Applicants must be a resident of Towns, Union or Clay Counties and a high school senior. Applications must be submitted to the Church Office no

later than Monday, March 30th at 5 p.m.

LOOKING AHEAD

MCCONNELL PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION | 3/2 Preschool registration for the 2020/21 school year will begin

on Monday, March 2nd for church members and current enrollees. Registration will be open to the public

beginning Monday, March 16th. For more information contact Emily Winn, Director, at 706-896-2281.

DADDY/DAUGHTER DATE NIGHT | 3/6

Dads (or granddads, uncles, brothers, or other significant father figures), this is your opportunity to

spend time with your special young lady on Friday, March 6th, at 6pm, in The Lodge. Dinner provided!

OSBORN CEMETERY NEWS For McConnell Church Members - a member of our

cemetery team, Dianne Nelson, is available to answer questions and take reservations for the cemetery or the new columbarium.

If you are interested, call Dianne at 706-896-7736 to schedule an appointment.

COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

On Saturday, March 14, 2020, the Lake Chatuge-Hiawassee Rotary needs your help. Through "Meals of Hope", Rotary

will package 60,000 meals for our local community! 200 volunteers are needed to come to the Towns County Recreation & Conference Center (150 Foster Park Road,

Young Harris, GA 30582) from 9 a.m.-12 noon. This is a very organized event, and it is set up so well that

200 volunteers should be able to pack 60,000 meals in 3 hours.

The completed meal packages will stay RIGHT HERE in our community to help with meals in emergency situations, and also help feed children who need food during the summer,

when they are not in school. If you can volunteer that morning,

send an email to be added to our list at h4hrestoreblv@gmail.com, or

call the Habitat ReStore at 706-745-7101 and ask for Cathy.
