“Celebrating God’s Faithfulness” Stewardship 2012

Frank and I have been on a 2-year journey with his medical situation. As most of you know, he has gone from cane to walker to wheel chair and now to a motorized power chair. (Watch out; he's not a very good driver yet!)

We have both always trusted the Lord, but now we are realiz-ing that He is all He says He is. His faithfulness to us has been remarkable, and what a joy to experience it. We have had the right person with the right knowledge to guide us each step. From surgery to home to assisted living to a facil-ity for dementia and back home again for the past 8 months, we have progressed with God’s faithfulness and love.

We have had encounters with amazing people that God has brought right to our door steps. We have a wonderful bond-ing of our family to help us take each step. As our faith has grown to trust God more—His faithfulness has been proven to us. We have had miracles and love and blessings through-out this time that only God could deliver. There has been no healing of the medical problems, but OH! how the peace and comfort and well being has come into our lives.

No matter what the day brings, we can see God at work, and we know that all is well. Our faith has grown, and we have seen his faithfulness increase as we have learned to recog-nize it.

GREAT IS GOD'S FAITHFULNESS DAY BY DAY!!!

THANK YOU, GOD!

Bobbie Garner

To All Sunday School Teachers!! You are cordially in-vited to the Teacher Appreciation Brunch on Saturday, No-vember 3, at 11 am. Please RSVP—no later than October 28—by calling Joy Summers at (706.268.3096). Hope to see all of you for food and fellowship! “Operation Christmas Child” is the Chapel’s project with “Samaritan’s Purse.” Shoeboxes will be available from now until Nov. 11th. Please return filled shoeboxes no later than November 11th. Let’s make this the best year yet for “Changing a Life.” Stop by the table after the service for any questions. Chris West, the Director of Children, Youth and Families, has recently resigned his position at the Chapel to return to his home in Tennessee. The separation from his family, in addi-tion to the challenges of maintaining two residences, have been the primary factors in this decision. Chris will assume the position of youth director in a United Methodist Church near his home. Misty will continue to teach school in White Pine, Tennessee. Our prayers are with Chris and Misty as they follow God’s call. Chapel Women’s Guild will meet on Thursday, November 8th, at 10:00 am for fellowship and to hear Don Russell speak. Don is the 2001 Pickens Citizen of the Year, President and Founder of the Community Thrift Store, and Founder and Chairman of the Pickens County Community Resource Asso-ciation. The Mission Moment will be provided by Pickens Habitat for Humanity. At the November meeting, you may purchase your tickets for the December 13th Christmas Lunch-eon and Home Tour. Tickets are $25. Also, please bring your unwrapped gifts for the Christmas Outreach Party at Heritage Health Care. Shirley Moore and Anne Campbell can be con-tacted if you still need to choose a gift to bring for the party.
